Is it true that "parade viewing" is now a Fastpass+ option?

Did I just dream this or did I read that you can select priority viewing at a parade as one of your 3 Fasstpass+ options for the day? Are they creating special seating and if not how could they possibly implement this? Wouldn't you still have to show up at least an hour or two in advance to maintain and protect your "curbside view." Can someone fill in in on how this would work?

Best wishes,
David

If you don't have a fastpass for the parade, you're required to keep your eyes closed when it goes by.

someone say those fp are not released until a month (might be less) before you arrive.

so they are hard to get. Not sure where this area is located - we got VIP once - but think it was the RR area?????

We did FP+ for the main street electrical parade. They had roped off an area of the hub on the statue side of the street on the right half around to near the castle (if that makes sense). They didn't let people in until about 15-20 minutes before the parade so there was a mass of people around the entrance to the roped off area. Then, when they opened the rope people were trying to all get their MB's read by the 3 CM's standing there with the ipad readers. It was a bit of a mess. People were lined up along the street about 2-3 deep and this was a rainy night in January when the parade ended up being postponed for almost an hour. :scared1:

We did Fast passes for Fantasmic when we went in December. What a joke! They let us in the same time as everyone else and were seated so far away. We stood in line forever waiting yo get out of there when it was over.

Our October Electrical Parade FP+ experience was very positive.

But it doesn't always come up as an option, so you have to keep looking for it.

As the poster stated, it's silly to do for Fantasmic, though.

There are no seats but there is a roped off area. For the fireworks the area is in the rose garden. For the parade it is in the hub right in front of the castle.

Seriously? They're fast-passing fireworks now? What's next ? Restrooms?

Shhhhh - don't give them any ideas! They'll buy right into the idea that Disney fans want to plan their entire vacation to the minute!

The escalator up from soarin was out of service the last time we went. Gates around it and everything. My five-year-old looked up at me and said, "Dad, if you don't have a fastpass for this, do we have to take the stairs?"

;)

Hilarious! :rotfl2:

When you only get 3 fp for the day, using one on a parade or fireworks seems like such a waste. Since you can watch them from so many different locations.

We used one of ours for Illuminations and Wishes, it was fun. I would do Illuminations again but not Wishes.
