Is it true Garden Grill restaurant no longer rotating??? Why???

I just read in another thread that Garden Grill restaurant is no longer rotating? Is this true? Why? When did it stop? My bf will be so disappointed if this is true. Thanks in advance for your replies!

it was rotating last week in May 2008...we were there, and watched The Land scenes change. And you could look down & see the floor move

There were several reports this spring that the rotation was broken. It remained down a couple months but it looks like they got it fixed if it was working in late May. Excellent news!

i hope they get this resolved. for us, this is one of the major attractions, if it didn't resolve, i am not sure i would choose to eat here. I just don't want to stare at that blank wall my whole meal!

We were there last month as well, and it wasn't rotating when we arrived. They said they were fixing it, and within 20 mins. it started again.

I hope you have a wonderful meal - this used to be one of our fav meals, but sadly after 3 tries, it is off our list due to horrible food, confused character interactions and less than stellar service.

They have some work to do here as we have eaten here many times, but lately, it's just not up to par - the non rotating doesn't surprise me considering the other issues we've seen.

I wasn't impressed with the rotating thing but that's probably b/c we were on the top floor and didn't really see much. I was more interested in the food and characters.

"cycle of the moon"! That totally cracked me up.

And to add my all important report ... On Wednesday, June 11th, from 11:20am through 12:41pm, it was NOT rotating!! lol

We were told the "wheel" was broken. I got us a table with a view of the Land ride so we had a nice view for our meal. (We had a choice of tables since they had just opened at 11am and there were only a few groups so far.)

How very odd because it was rotating when we ate there the first couple days of February. Sounds like it has turned temperamental.

We just returned yesterday from WDW.

On our first Epcot day (the day we had an ADR for Garden Grill, of course), the restaurant was not rotating. This was Tuesday, 6/17. I asked the host if the restaurant no longer rotated, and he told me that the motor had burned out.

This past Monday (6/23), as we walked past the restaurant, my husband said that he saw it rotating again.

As an aside (and I'll be doing a dining review later), the Garden Grill was our least favorite meal this trip.
