Is it true cancellations made today don't show up until tomorrow?

I have been trying to get my final night booked at CSR so I don't have to do a split stay, and so I can keep my dining for my last night. When I called the CM told me that all cancellations made today don't show up until tomorrow. He said the systems reset overnight, so calling back during the day wouldn't help. Is this true?

I hope so then I can have my sister call back tomorrow to try and get the gp discount since there was no availability today. I hope lots of people upgraded with the discounts.
