Hello... I am planning a trip for me and my hubby to WDW in February.. As I am planning I still have a few bad experiences stuck in my head from our last trip in June 2004 ... I am trying to forget it but it is kind of hard not to.. So her it goes any advice is greatly appreciated....... Ok my husband came back from 10 months deployed in Iraq and so we decided to take a well deserved vacation.. We stayed at the Contemporary through Shades of Green and upon arriving the guy at the desk was nice at first and then said " oh you booked this through Shades of Green".. Then his whole attitude changed and he acted like he was doing us a favor by checking us on..... The next few days were alot of fun , just alot of crowds but we pretty much expected that.. Then on day 4 we had a tee time at the golf course next to Shades Of Green ( I can't remember the name of the course right now) ... Anyway we arrived about 15 minutes before our tee time and had to wait for over an hour before we could even get a cart.. While we were standing around some of the employees there starting being really rude to me saying " Oh you think that you know how to golf young lady" and I hope you have sunscreen on blondie " and " Do you even know how to golf?" then they all started laughing really loudly and said that I won't be able to keep up with the "real golfers"..... and so on and so on...... My hubby didn't hear any of this stuff because he was in the pro shop ..... Then when it was time for us to get in the golf cart we we were asked where my golf bag was... My hubby told them that we left my bag at the hotel and he put my clubs in his bag so it was easier to carry through the hotel.... Then they said that according to the PGA rules I must have my own bag so we would have to rent one... So we did... Then we finally get up to the 1st tee and thats where we learned that we "have to play in a foursome... The 2 men that we were paired up with were standing there the whole time rolling their eyes... Then one of the employees told our new partners " sorry you have to play with little Miss Princess here" .... At that point I felt a lump in my throat like I was going to start crying... My hubby could see that so he told the guys to leave me alone and asked me if I still want to play ,so I told him that I would rather not and that I would like to just sit in and drive the cart while he played with the other 2 guys...So I did and they all played while I sat there felling like an idiot...... My husband kept telling me how sorry he was that that happened. But I couldn't stop feeling like a second class person being the only woman in an all men surrounding........ I guess I should have read more on the course before i made the Tee time that way I would have expected to follow the PGA rules which is no big deal really... However I don't think that I should have been humiliated because I am a woman that is new to golf...So My question to you is should I complain to anyone about this?and if so who?? and is it too late for me to complain about it now? and lastly can anything be done to make me less nervous about our upcoming vacation?
