Bunch of WIMPS!
Come to the Gulf Coast of Tejas, we will show you hot & humid!
Florida got squat for heat. That is where Texas goes to cool off in the summer time.
Now I am not sure about you Yankees in NY but I have to think that even frigid Florida has more 90 degree days than NY![]()
I go to Houston to cool off from Dallas. Orlando is (usually) easy.
It all depends on what you prefer though. I prefer the heat.
Would you mind me asking what week in June you went? We have never been in June before always mid to late May and now we are booked 6/23/ to 6/30/2011. We find late May hot and humid and don't mind at all...how much different do you think a month will make weather wise? TIA![]()
Speaking of Texas, that's where we are (because it's the best place to be of course) and we're just now planning our first ever WDW trip. I recently asked some friends, also from here in TX, about their trip to Disney last August. I wanted to know all about it and if they were miserable and if the heat was horrid etc etc. I am not kidding, they said it was CHILLY!I was like huh
They honestly felt like they were always cold because it was rainy and then they would stand in the ride lines with A/C and freeze to death. They loved loved Disney and are now planning their second trip in the dead of summer. Heat didn't phase them at all obviously. Not only that, but they did ZERO planning and slept in everyday and just went wherever they felt like each day. They were completely clueless about touring plans and Extra Hours, etc and had a huge blast in August! I've also grilled several other friends here in TX about their summer trips and nobody has ever complained about the heat at WDW in the summer. Maybe we're just used to being miserable

As someone posted before, yes Chicago and NY are hot and humid in the summer. And last year was super hot for Chicago too, but I wasn't spending alot of time outside. We go from our air conditioned house to the a/c car to our a/c jobs. I just don't know if for me personally it would be enjoyable in the awful heat.![]()
My thoughts exactly. We were there from July 30-Aug 12 this past summer. OMG!!!! I was looking for the shuttle to the sun, it would have been more pleasant there. Naturally, central Florida was having record breaking heat/humidity at that time. I've been to WDW about 4 times in mid-August (around the 13th or so) for a week. I changed to late July into early August only to avoid the beginning of free dining...been there, done that and never doing it again!! Each time it was hot and humid...especially the year we arrived about 5 hours before the hurricane!!We went at the end of July. Basically it was like being in the seventh circle of hell.
Yeah. I believe someone else called it "surface of the sun" hot and that's pretty accurate. Different people handle heat differently but if it gets to you easily, plan very, very carefully if you end up going in July.
We still had a good time but the heat was absolutely and utterly miserable and for those of us who are sensitive to it, it did impact the trip.
New York was hot and humid all summer last summer. It was the hottest summer in NYC history.
Thinking about a trip this summer - I can take the heat IF the crowds aren't too bad - how are crowd levels in early to mid June?
Not my team, trust me on that.Dallas? Didn't we boot you and you football team out of Texas already?
Wait till my Oilers come home, then it is gonna be on!![]()
