Is it too far fetched to think Cotino could be DVC, after visiting I dont think so.

When they first announced Cotino a few years ago, I told my husband that we were going to move there. We've been back and forth with moving to Palm Springs for our entire marriage (over 30 years). Rancho Mirage is my favorite city in the area. When we first got married, we almost bought a studio in Palm Springs that was like a co-op. We would have been able to stay in it for a total of 6 months, at a week at a time, or the whole 6 months at a time and then the "resort" would rent out our unit for the rest of the time and I presume keep all that money. We thought we'd circle back to it in a few years, but it wasn't meant to be as it was sold and turned into something else.

Very long story long, as soon as Cotino set pricing and sent me the list, it was a hard no for me. Even if I struck gold, I just couldn't bring myself to buy it. If it became a DVC property, sure, I would love to visit it. I still love the greater area and I like the desert climate a lot. If they sell day passes, I'll probably buy one sometime when staying somewhere else. I think of it as a man made oasis, which is lovely, but at the end of the day, the weather is the weather out there. Incredibly hot for many months and terribly windy with sand in your face during the winter.
Schedule a tour next time you're in Cali and i would bet you may want to buy again 🤣🤣

I loved the modern open concept look and that the pool is the "heart" of the homes. Some of the homes have casitas seperate from the main living space that you can rent.

They really make it feel like your on vacation, beautiful sliding doors opening up to the pool in every room. The bathrooms were something else.

I picture myself entertaining family while using the pizza oven. The appliances were so modern, loved the built in coffee maker in model 3 and the modern electric fireplaces!

It is very expensive for the desert, but man we really did fall in love with the inside of the homes, I wish they had built this in another city, not the desert, but the whole vibe does make sense once I went there and it was a firm "hell no" before. Of course the model homes had all the bells and whistles. And no im not buying there 🤣🤣 But I love the thought of the hotel being DVC.

From what they've done with the homes I am sure the hotel will be a smash hit.
