Hello

So we are looking at getting married at WDW in January 2011

Is it too early to ring and if its not what do I say :confused3

I am so excited about ringing I think Im going to forget any thing when I get on the phone

So what did you say when you first rang

Thanks in advance

Leanne

no its not too soon, I rang 18 months before my date.

Nothing much happens in the first conversation they just take your details and then someone rings (or e-mails if you prefer) you back with more info.

If you are doing a Wishes wedding in 1/11 then I think calling next month wouldn't be too early because you would book and pay your deposit in January 2010. However, if doing an Escape I wouldn't bother not doing it yet. Since they changed the date I think it would be frustrating. IMO

Oh thank yo both for your replies

we are hoping for a wishes wedding and would love to know prices so we know we can afford it for sure

We are having a wishes VR (virtually it is a wedding with all bells and whistles) Feb 2011, we rang back in September and have been in touch with our wedding coordinator since, we even went on a site visit.

We have been penciled in for our date.

Can't wait till Feb 2011 when I finally get to have my date set in stone!

You just need to say you've got lots of questions you'd like to ask.

Good luck with the phone call.
Im dreading when the time comes for me to phone, im the same as you i get all nervous and just go blank and forget what i want to say

Yup, basically that's what I said.
DH and I were scheduled to be in WDW in late Sept of this year for a race. DH was the one that rang (I am scared of making the first call, silly me!), told them we had ordered the information and the DVD off of the site, but that we still had a lot of questions regarding actual pricing, timing, plus since we were going to be down there in a couple of weeks we would like to have a site visit and then listed the sites we were interested on and also gave them the date we wanted to book, the number of guests we had already calculated and our budget ballpark.

We also let them know we have a lot of international guests so we need a longer time frame to send save the dates and invitations to give everybody the chance to make it. We have already personally rang our guests to let them know this is happening and that we have a date picked, but I am waiting to sign our contract and get our confirmed date before we send anything out.

They didn't miss a beat and the next day a wedding coordinator gave me a call to set up a site visit and to confirm which information I needed. After our phone conversation she sent me a bunch of info via e-mail.

Good luck with the phone call.

We were nervous too! That is why I wrote down all the particulars down for DH (venues, times, dates, number of guests, budget, type of ceremony, what questions we had, that we wanted a site visit, when we would be there, when we could make a site visit happen while down there, etc).
He is very good talking with strangers and he passed them along to the CM on the phone without missing a beat.

When the wedding coordinator called I had a brand new list since I became the main contact from then on. I am glad I write my questions down as they come, otherwise I'd just draw blanks all the time :rotfl2:

I'm like you, I hate talking on the phone. Check out the Disney Weddings website, look at things that you might like then write down questions. Maybe post a different thread askign people what kind of questions they asked their coordinator, or talk to somebody who was recently married that way you have an idea. Then just go down the list!

Ok so we are there next September I dont want to ring and ask to arrange a site visit as I hope we can have our planning session on this trip and then return next Jan 2011 to get married

So I think I may pluck up the courage to ring tonight then

I just rang and

No luck was just told to ring back in January

I personally dont want to leave it a year out as I am worried about it not being what we want I said to her there was no way we could talk to any one further about it and she just said no

I even mentioned I had been on this site and that many people on here have spoke to co ordinators that have weddings VRs arranged later and she just said there was nothing she could do till January

So we might have to keep our options open and still look around

I am really saddened by this call I really thought we might of got some where

I'm sorry it didn't work out how you wanted. You should call back and ask about speaking to a sales person because you would like a site visit. That usually gets them in gear.

oh no im sorry the call wasn't of much use and you were just told to ring back in Jan, hopefully your DFi will get somebody more helpful when he calls :)
