Is negativity contagious? Has it all really gotten that bad?

Answer to the first question - yes.

Answer to the second question - no.

If someone posts a thread starter asking "just how bad is XXXX?", there will answers about how bad XXXX is. Whether it be an attraction, a resort, or a restaurant. But, if someone posts a thread starter asking, "we are going to be at XXXX and I'm not sure about it, what do you think?", there will be positives and negatives.

Anytime I see "bad" in a thread title, I look at the first post, chuckle, and then move on.

As far as if Disney World has gotten "that bad"? No - it's what each person experiences. Are some trips absolutely fantastic for that family? Sure - but for the next family to experience the identical things, it's not going to be fantastic. And for that second family, what they perceive as fantastic, won't be the same thing the third family thinks is fantastic.

Example - my husband and I just love walking around World Showcase as the last thing we do before ending our evening at Disney World. How many families with small children would think that was a perfect night? We also almost never go to Magic Kingdom. Same question for families with small children.

I miss Riverside and refuse to call it Six Flags ;) but we don't go there any more either

LOL! Yes, we rarely refer to it at all. My husband and I grew up going there, and he took the kids every Saturday night to the track, and then rides after. Sunday afternoons we enjoyed that big ol chicken BBQ!

Now he watches the good old days on CPTV.

I notice rude people occasionally, but aside from a few instances, it doesn't impact my vacation. I can't wait until our next trip.

Wondering the source for this info.

Very simply, read the various forums, trip reports, travel agents we know as friends, are getting positive feed back, other friends we know who have gone under the new system etc. As I pointed some folks are still unhappy are mostly mostly those who had there own system and FP + interfered with that.

The key to success is overlooking all the negative and looking at the positives such as who you're there with. Each time my wife and I approach a park we see the crowds and we just turn and look at each other and say "We're the only ones here." We both laugh and it starts our day off right. It's all about spending time with the ones you care about. Since we've had this attitude we've found ourselves falling more and more in love with Disney (and each other) and you'll find the "magic" starts happening for your more often when you go with that attitude as well. If you focus your mind on the crowds, the heat, etc. you're going to have a bad time. Let your focus be on what really matters and you'll find yourself having an amazing time.

Anecdotal evidence is worthless. I could just as easily claim FP+ is a total failure, based on opinions of people I know, but that's hardly conclusive data. The fact is, no one can really say definitively, one way or another, how most people feel about it because it's impossible to know. Repeatedly claiming that everyone loves it isn't going to make it true.

As for this poll, it's about the general WDW experience, not FP+. Even if it were, it's such an infinitesimally small data collection that it's hardly indicative of the general guest opinion.

I disagree totally .the sites and reading I HAVE DONE clearly shows a majority of people that seem happy with the FP +. THIS poll and the OP put the other posters feeling about FP+ clearly in the forefront of measuring other posters feelings about fp+.

My post stands.

This reasoning is so flawed. Do you read every thread here ... or on other message boards? Every article? Every comment?

I wouldn't claim to know whether most like FP+ or dislike it. I read what I feel like reading. I'm not doing a research project. I only click on the threads that interest me. Surely, you can see how this alone could skew things one way or the other.

You know, even if you stood outside the gates at all 4 parks for 3 days and exit interviewed every person, and even if 60% were "beyond-their-wildest-dreams" thrilled with FP+, it still wouldn't prove your point. Because how many people have chosen NOT to be in the parks because of FP+?

The truth is no one knows this info.

For the record, I'm disappointed with FP+ in certain aspects, but I didn't hate it, and it didn't negatively impact my vacation enough to keep me from going back ... for now. Where do you put me on your like it/don't like it scale?

I am sorry, but I do a lot of reading on all the sites and talk to lots of people as I quoted, including here. please review my points.

I feel I am correct, there are many people happy with FP+. I respect your opinion, but disagree.

I tend to agree. My family did okay with FP-, we did not maximize it but managed to use it to our advantage. FP+ is a bonus for us because now we know we are "booked" on our attractions and do not need to worry. But we are planners to a point.

I think the folks who struggle are the folks who liked a daily fresh slate. Are they in the majority? No idea. I will say that for the most part I see a lot of happy or at least not furious people. But at this point I also tend to scroll past the others, so that plays into my own opinion.

Compelling data.

Cite sources, please.

You know you can't do this. We probsbly will never see a definitive data file from Disney so the best any of can do is firm an opinion from what we read.

Or, stop declaring anecdotal evidence as fact. Opinion couched as truth is intellectually dishonest. There's no shame in simply saying "I like/dislike FP+ and I readily admit that there is no way I could possibly know how the majority feels."

Good post. You're correct about the last statement, but that's why I question people when they say they know. I think we'd all like to know the answer, but I don't know how we'd get there.

I honestly don't understand the focus on "rudeness". I come across rude people every day. I can't control what other people do, and not everyone is going to behave the way I think they should. Why is it suddenly different because you're at a theme park? The people visiting a theme park are the exact same people wandering around the rest of the world. Some of them will be rude. Why would I let that influence my vacation choices? People are rude everywhere.

Please Disers take a deep breath and relax.I have received reports on this thread. So please when you post be respectful,non- argumentative , sarcastic or rude in posts. Please you folks know how to get along, so again I say please do so. So please agree to disagree in polite manner. Note if I delete a thread everyone who quotes it in their replies forces me to delete your post also. For quoting deleted thread, so I advise hit report key and leave quote out of your reply. Thanks Danny

I'm not sure if the questions in the poll really have anything to do with how you feel sometimes about your park experience. The crowds have never really made that much difference to us and as many people have said rudeness can really be part of your day anywhere. That said the third thing listed really drives us nuts. I just don't understand why we have to try and lay out every detail of our vacation down to the minute 60 days out? Whether that ruins our experience or not depends on the park. We haven't really seen a point in doing it at AK yet but I'm sure that will change, EPCOT and HS are just a mess with the tiering and seeing FP being offered for things like Journey Into Imagination just seems so ridiculous to me. That's also the problem with MK in that there are really only two things hard to get but the concept of having to schedule other things like JC, HM and PoTC just screems desperation to make other things seem must do and force people into other rides.

So overall our park experience is still good but not as good as it once was.
