I haven't been since April 2014. Not that long ago but it seems the negative threads about FP+ and crowds and rudeness have been getting worse. I don't know if I am just noticing them more. Is negativity contagious? Has it all really gotten that bad?

I'm not letting it get to me and am holding judgement until I go but it makes me curious which side is the majority. The side that is getting disappointed or the side that doesn't see anything wrong.

Thought I'd make a poll and see the results.

Just went in July, the week after July 4th and had an absolutely fantastic trip with low crowds in most parks at most times. Love FP+ and no more rudeness than usual. lol Going back in September.

You are trying to draw a direct line between "rudeness is a growing problem" and "I didn't love my park experience". How does one respond to your poll if they noticed an increase in rude and/or selfish behavior but still loved their park experience? Because I'll bet that is the majority view by a wide margin.

I saw one post about it where the person said because of that rudeness they weren't going back. So of course you can experience it and still love the experience. So I'd mark true but if that rudeness, etc. made you not go back than the answer would be false. I'm hoping a majority will say love despite any bad experience.

And it's looking good so far :)

We were there last October - if someone was rude, I can't remember! I do remember we had a blast! :)

I can't really recall a single trip among many to WDW or DLR where I experienced rudeness on a massive scale. It's usually one or two incidents at most and the rudeness in those incidents minor, not major. It's certainly not a deal breaker as far as my vacation goes.

As for FP+, I find it inferior in execution to FP so far. But it's still way better than nothing.

There's always going to be rude people regardless. I mean, I run into those kind of people anywhere (ex: supermarket yesterday lol). So, to answer your questions yes there are rude people, there have always been rude people and no I do not let them ruin my Disney experience and I still have fun!

That's sort of my point. The vast majority of people are going to say that they love their park experience. But in so doing, that doesn't inform us of what is or isn't being observed in terms of rudeness. Only that rudeness isn't driving us away from the parks.

Exactly! And how much rudeness has an impact on someone can be due to varying factors. For example, I live in NYC and take the subway daily, so my ability to tune out rudeness is much higher than my friends and family who live in other parts of the country where it's not as evident or concentrated on a daily basis. So it takes a lot for something to impact me. Someone who lives in another area where they're not in the same daily environment I am might have a much lower bar and be more affected.

Understand, I'm not saying that there is ever an excuse for rudeness. Just that not everyone is bothered by the same things.

edited to add: Regarding FP+, I really have no feelings either way. I have been where I was using my CM daily passes (I used to work at a Disney Store) and had no way to reserve anything in advance as I didn't get the actual ticket until I exchanged the vouchers - no problem getting passes for what I wanted day of and riding everything I wanted to either way. And even once I got an AP I haven't had problems getting what I wanted and riding what I wanted with or without. Granted I'm traveling solo most of the time and don't NEED to do say an A&E meet and greet or ride the Mine Train (been there, done that, personally found it meh), but I haven't had issues with it "ruining" my trip.

But I guess my whole point was to see if it was bad enough to push people away from the parks. ( and in my original post it wasn't just rudeness I stated but FP+ problems and crowd levels) I've seen way more than one post say this or that has made people's vacation awful enough that they won't go again. I wanted to know how many people thought it bad enough that it made them hate their experience.

I wasn't trying to get into detail and start a negativity thread. I wanted to keep it simple and see how many people think it's bad enough to make them hate their experience. I was curious if it was a lot of people who hated their experience or very few. If the majority still love their experience then that's great and I'm glad to find that out.

This is great! Thank you everyone for posting. I am thinking that I am just noticing the "I'm never going back" posts more than the positive ones which makes me glad. I was getting a little scared that maybe everything was going downhill. But I was trying to hold back until I saw for myself but honestly this makes me feel better so thank you everyone.

Also remember that the people on this board represent a TINY portion of the people who visit WDW. TINY. We may be vocal, but in the great scheme of things we are a drop in the bucket.

And also note that people are far more likely to fuss about a negative experience than rave about a positive one, so for every negative post there are likely hundreds of positive experiences that people just aren't reporting on.

Though there are PLENTY of things that annoy me about Disney (miserable toddlers, long lines, my bus seat being over-flowed on by a pooh sized guest, CM with microphones at the pools running games making it impossible to relax, hours of planning, getting up early to get to rope drop to avoid lines, pool water too warm, overpriced lousy food, the list could go on), but I found other guests overall were very pleasant and friendly. Of course there are times where people are focused on where they're going and don't realize they ran you over with their stroller or the ones who have someone reserve their spot in line..I don't care about any of those things. Most importantly to me, I was amazed that with the 1000's and 1000's of people around, everyone had awesome personal hygiene. I can't go a day at work where someone doesn't come in the office and I need to spray air freshner after, but Disney people are the cleanest. :)

We were there in July, went well, really didn't notice anything being worse

I think, at least for me, I have the vacation that I want to have. If I go in excited and ready to have a good time and roll with the punches, I enjoy myself. I'm coming up on my tenth trip and I'm as excited as ever! Are there rude people? Of course, but you'll find that anywhere/everywhere. To me, being in the most magical place on earth makes dealing with those pesky people all that much easier! :flower1:

I last went in January 2014, I do not remember any rudeness, only thing I remember that was annoying was the groups with flags and we just avoided them. Also we went when fp+ was still in the testing phases and it was awesome, we loved it. Looking forward to my November trip.
