I don't think there is anything wrong with celebrating close to the actual day. Like a PP said having a party on a weekend for a birthday during the week etc. But I think it is sort of weird to celebrate birthdays that are way out like the OP plans to do. Might as well get a Christmas tree, easter basket, haloween costume and some fireworks and get all the celebration done at one time. :lmao:
Ultimately it really doesn't matter, if you are comfortable with "Christmas in July" go for it. Same with the bdays.

Personally, I think it's OK to celebrate the birthday that is so close to your trip. Howevert I really think it's sending the wrong message to the other 2, that they are in some way entitled to a cake too, simply because they were also born? Makes no sense to me. (?)

:thumbsup2 I agree completely!

I don't know...I am a bit torn. I think it is okay to celebrate when the trip is close to the actual day, but you are talking about 2 and 3 months from birthdays and the trip. Won't you be celebrating your other son's birthdays at home? Why do they need another celebration almost 3 months later? It seems a bit much. Instead of celebrating thier birthday, why don't you let them just pick where they want to eat on a certain day? Or maybe they get to choose the first ride of the day? You can make your kids feel special without celebrating a day that really isn't thier birthday.

I also voted no. do what you feel comfortable for your family.
Our trip in March is a birthday present to for my sons. One's birthday is the end of jan and is the end of feb. They both picked out a day and chose what we were going to do and where to eat (where I plan on ordering them a birthday cake), this is their present from me.
On their official birthdays we are just having dinner with extended family.
