I will be staying at All Stars for a few days and I was wondering if you can fax the room assigner your requests. And yes I mean reasonable like a building preference if available. And no we won't pitch a fit if it isn't available. Hey your in WDW all is right with the "World". :goodvibes

Last year I faxed a room request. I don't see any harm doing it. I am going to do it again this summer.

Most resorts are not doing anything with the faxes. I suggest calling reservations and have them note your requests in your reservation. That way they don't have to match up a paper to your reservation.

At cbr, I do work in the back, at the room assigment desk. We do pay more attention to faxed requests than one put in the reservations it self. But thats just us, each resort maybe different. But to be safe, do both.

That's good to know. Seems like the info posted lately leans toward too many people faxing, so it's not worth it.

We faxed our room request to the Grand Floridian. When we checked in the CM said that they had gotten the request. The CM was going to give us our 2nd choice (dormer room in Sago Cay) but the manager insisted that she look to see if there any dormer rooms in Conch Key that were available (which was our 1st choice). Well, our request was granted and we got a dormer room in Conch Key!

It doesn't hurt to try. Just fax your room request anyway. :sunny:

I fax and have it noted on my reservation. A lot of people say "its not worth it" but faxing only take like 2 seconds to do. I figure I'm no worse off by faxing, it doesn't hurt anything, so why not?

Thanks goofydad! You read my mind...I was thinking~~how should I word my fax~~ and POOF, your sample appeared!

How many days in advance should I fax my request?

No more than 3 days prior to the trip. Otherwise Skyhawk32803 will get over loaded with requests and no ressies. CRO doesnt send the reservations to the resort until 3 days till your arrival. ;)

We are checking in on Sunday, Nov. 27. Since Thanksgiving Day is 3 days prior to our check-in, would you recommend faxing on that day or the day prior (or after)? I don't want to bombard them during a busy holiday.

Thanks for your help!

It's best to fax your room request 4 days prior. So you should fax your request on November 23rd. Your room is blocked 3 days before, so you should send it 4 days before. That is what I did in December and got the room I requested.
