Is it rude to have husband wait in line to get in the gates while we get a Starbucks?

slight tangent off of this. has DLR embraced the no bag line for security or is it still the same entry for everyone like as of my last trip in Sept?

There have been no bag lines off and on for a few months now. It seems to happen randomly or perhaps on busier days, not daily.

gotcha, so they vary based on crowd size. as someone who travels light, the no bag line being a standard at WDW has spoiled me. much obliged all.

If it’s just 3 of you, that’s probably fine, if you are quick. What is rude is what happened to me last June- I was at the park bright and early and was the first person in my line (it was just me that day, everyone else either slept in or went to Universal) and in a nearby line, 2 people wearing family reunion shirts were at the front (with a few people behind them). I heard them talking about how there were 27 of them total and they were saving a spot for all of them- as the time got closer to park opening, their whole group came and went in front of everybody else in that line (fortunately for the others in the line, that group was selected to go in early for the countdown)- now that is rude. Saving a spot for 3 other people is fine. Saving a spot for 25 other people, not so much.
So rude! Imagine if they didn’t have their tickets signed.

Do you shop at Costco or Sams club or such, that when you leave the store they check the receipt.....to see if you have been overcharged for a product?

At disneyland, they snap your photo to accomplish two goals.
1.That your ticket was valid at the time of purchasing, because there are criminals out there selling invalid entry tickets
2. That you void any concept in your mind of performing a criminal activity by re-selling the last two days of your 5 day park hopper ticket
3. Protecting the customer from being overcharged.

a man sued Costco for the unreasonable search of his receipt when leaving the store, stating that it was unlawful detainment (other factors also in this case), cost-co, to avoid profiling, stated that is was one of two reasons they search receipts, to avoid overcharging .
I never knew that about Costco!

And I never would have thought it was profiling because they check every receipt.

For my opinion, I always go with the “keep your group together” rule. We are usually a party of 3 or 4 and we wouldn’t think of sending one person ahead then joining afterwards. We just wait for each other and join the queue together.
When the kids were younger at a park before a potentially long line we always had the potty break before entering queue.

What about just one of you does the Starbucks run while the rest wait at the gate? That's how we did it. We were coming in from the Harbor side of the Esplanade. So we'd get in line (usually at or near the front) I'd put in the mobile order, DH would leave his backpack with me so coming back through security was quicker, and go get the order. Then he'd be back before the gates opened and joined me. It was a kind of close thing once when we had only about 3 minutes before countdown at California Adventure; we were like second or third group in line, and they'd already scanned my ticket in preparation to opening the gates. But he made it.

I like this strategy. One person joining a group of 3 is no big deal. You might be at the front of a crowded line and not have the space for 3 more.

Security isn’t an issue now to go back to get sbux. You’ll have been through security already and std and the esplanade have free and easy egress now.

I was in not implying that they would have to go through security to get to/from Starbucks in DTD (nor implying that they had a hard-of hearing, 75-yr-old woman riding an ECV with them), what I was saying was that we wait until my parents are through and stay together. We don't just go and rush up ahead and expect everyone to let them in the line in front of them. It's the fact that they are delayed (in my parent's case, for security - in the OP's case, for Starbucks) and we wait for them that is the same.

We just got back from Disneyland last weekend. On Friday, we happily hopped into a line with only about 10 people in front of us. One group of 3 was joined by about 10 more people. It was annoying. The people behind me and I had a discussion about it, but we didn't do anything about it or cause a scene. We just had a poor opinion of the group because of it. I think that's how it generally is, you'll tick off the people behind you, but they are generally don't want to start a fight over the rudeness and just let it slide.

Trust me. Some people will ALWAYS try to make a case for profiling no matter what.
