Is it really easy to park hop?

No. From what I understand (researched, haven't used yet) you can still only have one at a time, so you can't reserve something in DL and DCA at the same time. Gotta use one up first.

They don't have to be used, but when you "pull" one (either on MaxPass or at a kisok) there is a time you have to wait until the next one can be pulled. If the time is close, and you use it, then you can get another immediately, otherwise, you wait the specified time. It will tell you when it is. Some, like the ones for shows like Fantasmic! do not count toward the time.

Carthay Circle's Lounge will be the closest place to the front gates of DCA. Its a pricey place to drink but they serve a good stiff drink there.

You can have more than one at a time. If you get, say, an FP for RSR that you got via MP at 10:30 am with a return time of 3:00-4:00, you can get another FP for something else (NOT RSR) at 12:00 even though you haven't yet used the one for 3:00.

You can get a FP with max pass every 90 minutes, or after you use your FP. Whichever comes first.

One day we went back to our room to swim in the afternoon, and I kept getting FP so we have 4 by the time we went back that evening.

That’s not exactly accurate, since you don’t have to use a FP to book a new one; your next booking window just needs to open. As I’ve mentioned frequently on the boards, I almost always cluster FP for Space Mountain, Star Tours, and Buzz and then use all three at once... something like this:
At 9:00, book Space Mountain for 9:45-10:45.
At 9:45, book Star Tours for 10:10-11:10.
At 10:15, book Buzz for 10:20-11:30.

Now walk into Tomorrowland and use all three! Keep in mind that you can scan in up to 5 minutes early or 15 minutes later than the time indicated.

ETA: I realize it’s off topic for this thread, but I try to correct the misconception when I see it. :-)

It may be easier to get a drink at one of the many restaurants in Downtown Disney rather than DCA. Downtown Disney is a short walk from either park or can ride the monorail from Tomorrowland to Downtown Disney.

I treat DL and CA like one big park really. It is very easy to move between them, and you can use Maxpass to get FastPasses for either park at the same time. It's so convenient!

This is what we do too!

Does this mean I can use maxpass to get a fastpass in DL and then immediately try to reserve one for a ride in CA?

As others have said, it's all about the timing window. At one point last week we had four faspasses from maxpass waiting to be used. We had a 840-940 for RSR, 830-930 for GOTG, 850-950 for TSMM, and a 5-6 for Star Tours.
We got our RSR around 1 pm. Then 90 min later booked for GOTG, 90 min later Star Tours, about 70 min later TSMM.

If your next fastpass is over 90 min away then you can book the next FP 90 min later. If it is less than 90 min later it is usually FP return time + a few minutes. This has ranged from 5-15.

That was our experience last week anyway.
