Is it possible to use AMEX Delta Skymiles w/Continental?

I redeemed 100,000 Sky Miles for 2 round trip, non stop tickets from Newark (EWR) to MCO Oct 15-23 on Song Airlines. Thanks to another post on the DIS today, I found out that all Song flights out of Newark will be discontinued as of Sept 6. AAAAKkkkkk!!!! I have been on the phone with Delta, Song and American Express for the past 2½ hours. I've gotten conflicting information. However, the last Delta rep I spoke with told me that I would be able to purchase tickets on Continental using Delta Sky Miles. Just wondering if anyone else has done that?
Delta doesn't have any non stop flights from Newark to MCO, and the scheduled flights don't fit our WDW itinerary. Continental has several nonstops that would actually be better than our original flights. What a mess this is! I'm trying to get this resolved asap.

my original post was about AMEX membership rewards. It looks like you have the AMEX Delta card.

I'm not sure how you can use that for Continental.

I just got off the phone with Delta. And YES, you can use Delta Sky Miles for Continental and Northwest too! In order to redeem our miles on Continental for a nonstop flight I had to extend our trip by 4 days. 3 days at the beginning of the trip and 1 day at the end. And, the best part is that we are now flying 1st class for 10,000 sky miles less! Works for me!
Now I've got to head over to the resort board for ideas on where to stay for our extra days!

yes: DL CO and NW all allow cross-booking of award travel. I'm flying home on DL metal using NW miles.

Of course, Skymiles can be used toward any skyteam partner and a few others.
