We are trying to decide between the CSR and CB and I was wondering if it was worth it or even possible to change resorts during a 5 day 4 night stay. Or is it just too much trouble????

Its really easy to do a split stay, shucks we've stayed at two resorts a night a piece once before we checked into a third resort for the last two nights. Disney will take care of transporting your luggage for you. Only thing you have to deal with is packing up and waiting for your room to be ready for your next check in. Remember you will be out of a room between 11 am (check out) until 3 pm (check in) unless you have either late check out or early check in :p

If you were staying another night longer than I would tell you to split your stay as you would have 3nights at one and 2 nights at the other; however, as your only staying 4 nights I would tell you to pick one (my preference is CSR) and enjoy all that hotel has to offer. Now if your not big park fans and intend to spend more time at the resort than the parks, you may want to split your stay to really get the value out of both resorts but it doesn't make to much sense to split your stay if you are going to be in the parks most of your day. Whatever you choose to do enjoy your time there.

Since it is only four nights I would probably just chose one resort. However, it is possible to split your stay between the two. What do you want to do when you are there? is it mostly a resort stay or going to the parks? You can lose quite a bit of time with having to check in at a different resort. Your room may or may not be ready; so you can sit somewhere with you luggage or have it stored. It's comes down to personal preference and what you want to do when you are there.

A lot of people do split their stays. Me personally I don't think its worth the vacation time. I hate packing, unpacking, packing, unpacking, but that just me. Whatever you do have a great time!!!

Personally, I can't imagine packing up and moving in the middle of my trip, expecially if it's only for 4 nights. You end up wasting a lot of time. If I were you, I'd stay at CSR (our favorite moderate) and not bother with the move. I know a lot of people do it but it just doesnt seem worth it unless you are going to be there for a while and want to move up to a delux. Anyway, CSR is a great resort. To me it more of a delux that was built out instead of up. It has allof the amenities that the delux resorts have and a bigger food court. The bus system is very good and, since it is a convention hotel, there are usually fewer people on the buses and in the pools. Also, in case you're worried, the conventioneers are not a bother as they are usually back in the convention hall which doesn't impact the regular guests at all.

Have a great time whatever you decide.

I wouldn't split resorts on that short of a stay. Also IF you are doing the dining plan (paying or free) it requires min. of 3 nights stay I believe? And you wouldn't be able to split unless you were doing 3 nights at each resort. (I think)

Hmmm :scratchin I am splitting a stay in Sept (CR then GF) and the luggage transferall sounds interesting. Do you arrange this at the desk when you check out? Is there a fee for this? Do you need to check in at the other hotel early in the am so they can assign a room #? Elaborate please.

On our recent visit, may 6-14 we stayed at the GF until the 11th and then went over the AKL for a savannah view. We arranged the luggage transfer at the front desk at the GF and called when we were ready for them to pick it up from the room. Our luggage arrived fine at AKL, we had more trouble having a ready room and ended up switching rooms 3 times before we got a good view one that was ready! Aside from that it was very easy to switch, the only 'fee' would be a tip to the porters. For the 4 days I dont think it's worth switching, the day we switched we did not even go to any parks, we hung out at the resort and swam and relaxed. Good luck.

thanks for all the responses. I think we will just stick with the CSR and go to a different resort next time

Yes try both resorts Disney makes it very easy to move they will transfer your bags to the other resort for you and they will be in teh room waiting for you when you get back.

I agree-I dont think you will enjoy the resorts if you are there for so little time. save splitting the stay for when you are in WDW for atleast a week.

In fact...more than once. Often it is because of the number of DVC points required on the weekend. It really isn't that much of a bother with disney doing the luggage transfer. However, I would recommend it on a day when you won't be coming back to the room until after 4pm. Also be sure to take all essentials with you...your luggage will be in limbo.
