Is it possible to rent out reservation points?

I must cancel a Concierge Collection reservation. When I do that, the points become "reservation points" and must be used for another CC res.

Would it be possible to rent them out as if they were regular points?

Also, when would they expire? If they were "regular" points, they'd expire 3/31/06. Would the same date apply as reservation points?

Thanks.

Sorry you have to cancel.

Yes, you can rent reservation points.

However, because they cannot be used for a DVC resort reservation, you will probably not be able to get as much per point. (Using points for non-DVC options is not as good a value as using points for DVC resort reservations). You may have to accept much less - $4 or $5 per point to entice someone to rent the points from you.

The reservation points will expire at the end of your use year - if you have an April use year, and used 2005 use year points for your original reservation, yes, the expiration date would be 3/31/2006.

But if you can beat the price at a Disney Hotel, go for it. Check out the costs online and see what your points will get you.

Yes! That's it!
We already have a January BWV reservation for the in-laws as a Christmas present. Now we'll just cancel that and switch them to a hotel, instead. Thanks for the idea, Deb & Bill.

Now, just cross your fingers that something is available. :wizard:
