Is it possible to go swim at a different pool during the day?

I'm assuming the locks are resort specific, correct? I wonder too what's to stop someone from coming behind us and while the gate is open and comes in too? I know not everything is fool proof but I dont see the MB scan as being very effective.

at YC/BC there is a CM at each gate scanning people in. At other resorts, cm can and do scan the bands of people at the pool. I tend to close the gate behind me when I walk through.

Two months ago at SAB one of the gates was wide open the whole time and even when there was a CM standing nearby they never scanned MBs. They did scan them at the top of slide and gave out bracelets for the slide. I've never seen that before.

Oh I definitely wouldn't plan on it. I just thought it was strange. It may have been because it wasn't that warm out and the pool was the emptiest I've ever seen it. I can't imagine many people would be trying to sneak in.

That's why at the pools that actually tend to draw pool hoppers they do wrist bands. Y/B almost always has someone wrist banding at the entrances. If someone isn't there and the gate is open then someone isn't doing their job. At Poly this week they are walking around and double checking and issuing wrist bands when the pools become too crowded. Again for other pools it is less about keeping ever pool hopper out and more about safety but I know when I was at Grand California where they have the key gates we always closed it after us. If you are suppose ot be there then you'll have your key card or band with you. You also have to be following pretty closely behind someone for the gate not to close between families.

Yep. For instance, at the Poly, you can sit at the part of the Lava Pool bar outside the gate, but not the inside stools, and you can't get to the Oasis Pool Bar at all without a Magic Band.

You can't use the pool while you wait for your reservation, but you can relax on the "beach", it looks very pretty

My daughter's swim class has among its learning goals SAFETY: BE COOL, OBEY THE RULES.

If it's good enough for Level Two Sea Monkeys, it's good enough for poolside life.

Yes starting at 6 am you are considered a resort guest. If you MB doesn't open the gate go back to the front desk or just tell them when you check in.

I have done this, all be it in dress clothes with a wife in a dress. We weren't going into the pool. Common sense does prevail. People spending money does make a difference.

Curious, though it's probably not going to happen. My friends are staying at AKL and are planning a pool day. I'm staying at Pop. Would I be allowed to go hang out with them at the pool or would I not be able to.

If the PP's friends have not reached capacity in their AKL room, they could add him onto their reservation for the day so he can have resort privileges. If he ends up being the 3rd adult in the room, however, they would have to pay the extra adult fee of $25 + tax for a deluxe resort.

I don't know about a pass but I do think you can ask the life guards about it
