Is it possible to go swim at a different pool during the day?

I thought I read somewhere that you can request a 'guest/day pass' at the pool.

No such thing. You can ask the lifeguards at the pool at the time you want to swim. They can allow guests, but they are the only ones. And there is no way to know ahead of time, you have to ask when you want to swim.

A PP on this thread also indicated it is possible via the front desk. I'll be finding out for sure in Sept as my daughter is hoping one of her friends can join us for the day that we'll be both at the pool and park. :)

The front desk does not control who can or cannot swim. The lifeguards do. They are the ones who have to feel comfortable dealing with "extra" swimmers. And they are the ones who can say, "Sorry we are too busy to watch any people who are not guests of this resort."

If you're paying a fee to add that person to the reservation, as PP suggested, then they are technically then a guest of that resort as well?

Yes. But then if you pay for them to stay they are a guest of that resort. Easy work around if you don't mind paying the extra. As long as it doesn't put the room over the capacity limit, it is fine.

For $25+ tax if it keeps the kid happy, then we're all happy. Too bad they're not at an age where we can send them along to the park and hit up the lounge <forgot the name at the moment>
