If you order an AP and change your mind before it's activated, is it possible to cancel it and get a refund?

Good question, but not sure I have an answer. Remember that the vouchers are good forever, so I guess if it ws me, I would hang on to it for future use.

I'm pretty sure you cannot get a refund.

Ask your quetion on the theme parks board or better yet, send a PM to GoldenOldie. She is the resident expert on tickets. You can take her answer to the bank!

Gee Carol, nothing like putting the pressure on me. ;)

Pre-purchased tickets for general admissions (MYW, AP/PAP, etc) are not refundable. It should state that on the reverse side of the voucher. Your AP voucher is good forever and won't activate until you exchange it at WDW for the actual AP. Once you pay for the admission media, you own it unless you are on a package plan and cancel according to the terms of the package.

You do have the option, should you want to, of applying the purchase price of that AP towards other tickets you buy in the future. Only limitation is that the price of the new tickets must exceed the price you paid for the AP. This can only be done in person at Guest Relations.

Can't fool me, LOL! You know the answers so well that there isn't any pressure, LOL! In fact, you know the ins and outs of tickets so well that if you didnt' write the policies and procedures manual for the CMs who sell tickets, you surely could have! Thanks for sharing with us here on the DIS.

Slightly off topic, but I have an old AP voucher. Can I upgrade it to a PAP using the DVC discount during my next trip but not activate it yet? We will probably wait until the trip after that (more than a year away) before we want to use it, but I would like to lock in the DVC discount.

Thanks for your help. -- Suzanne

Another ticket question, if you don't mind. If I buy a 10 day ticket from Ticketmania, I can ugrade that to an AP after I get there right? I just pay the difference.
Thanks!

As far as I know, you can't exchange one voucher for another voucher - you have to exchange a voucher for a pass.

If you want to use the AP voucher to get a PAP with the DVC discount, you'll have to wait until you want to activate it and hope the DVC discount is still in effect.

You can exchange the unused ticket for an AP, but you will pay the price difference between the AP and whatever price Ticketmania paid Disney for your ticket. You'll "lose" watever Ticketmania's mark up / profit was. Might still be worth it if you qualify for the DVC member discount on the AP.

If you use part of the Ticketmania ticket, you can still upgrade if you do it within 14 days fo the first time you use the ticket. Your AP will be backdated to the day you first used the ticket.

If you use part of the Ticketmania ticket and wait longer than 14 days, you can apply the remaining value of the ticket to the purchse of a new AP. The year of admission starts on the day you do the exchange. This is assuming your Ticketmania ticket did not expire.

There are more little permutations if you have plus options. Here is a link with some good explanations regarding upgrades and dollar credits:

Well if I wrote the manual, you have apparently read it quite well. :teeth: You are right on the money on this, Carol.

This has changed since the coming of MYW tickets. You will now be credited at the gate price of the MYW ticket when doing any upgrade on it. What you described still holds true for old PHP's that you exchange though.

Wow! So even if you upgrade to an AP or PAP (which has no discount for advance purchase), you get credit for gate price? That's like a "secret" discount on the AP!

What does an AP cost and what is the discount for a DVC member? :confused3

An AP purchased at the gate is $420.68 tax included and renewals are $378.08. PAP would be $548.49 and $495.25. With the DVC discount ($125 for PAP and $100 for AP) the adult prices are $314.18 for an AP ($298.20 renewal) and $415.35 for a PAP ($394.05).

Here is a link to <a href="http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/tickets.htm">WDW Ticket Prices.</a>

DVC discounted prices may be purchased online at the Member's site or in person at any Theme Park Guest Services station.

Enjoy!
