Just wondering if it was possible to book a room only reservation at one of the DLP Resort hotels from the US? We wanted to do 1 night/2 days, but I see all the packages start at 2 nights/3 days.

TIA. :)

You can book room only if you call DLP direct, but not if you want to stay a Saturday night, then they insist you get a ticket from them (unless you have an AP...then they just try to insist  )

I've just spent the last 2 days trying to book room only accomodation. The UK reservations insist that they only book packages and gave me a number in France - they in turn once they realised that I spoke english were unwilling to help and asked me to call the UK number. Anyway I finally managed to get hold of someone in France who was very helpful and was given the room only rates. her name is Marguerita and the number is :
0033160306053. You still pretty much have to say that you already have passes to avoid being sold a package. Good Luck

I chanced it and booked my extra day when I got there. I booked my 3-day/2-night Disneyland Hotel package, but I wanted to spend an extra night there. I couldn't figure out how to do it ahead of the time. When I checked in and asked about adding on, an extra night at DL hotel was $500! I stayed at Santa Fe that last night. :o (I want to say my whole package was something like $600, but my extra night wound up being a weekend night or something. I can't believe the difference in prices of week vs. weekend. I'll never stay there on a weekend!)

Are room only rates any cheaper than what you pay through the packages (after you back out amounts for tickets and breakfasts)? Booking a classic package for 2 nights in July (Fri/Sat) the Disneyland Hotel ends up costing about $400 a night (after I back out what the tickets and breakfasts are worth). I'd love to stay there, but I won't pay $400 a night anywhere.

Well as far as I know, it's not possible to book a room only without an AP. They'll just give you the package price not matter what. And unless you have an AP number they won't let you book.
On the other hand an DLP AP (full one without block outs and with several discounts, 10% food, 10% purchases) costs "only" €159 (adult=child).
But you will have a hard time getting your AP before you can book your room. Try phoning DLP reservations and try to get an AP. I couldn't get it done little over a year ago. I was able to renew mine a few weeks ago by telephone and than only after 4 tries with just one person on the other end of the line speaking English well enough to understand me (and v.v.).

Good Luck!

Is that $400 a night for two people? If so, it's worth it! If that's per person, no way! My price was for me alone.

I ordered my AP and made room only reservations (with the AP discount) all in the same phone call. Call DLP central res. and ask to speak with an agent who speaks English. Say you have an AP and want the room rate with discount. I had no trouble. Then later I wanted to upgrade my hotel, having changed my mind - I called back, and I still did not have my AP's - but they changed my hotel, room only rate with discount - no problem.
The AP's are inexpensive at DLP and they start to pay off if you are staying 3 or more nights. You can get an even cheaper AP but without room discount (you can still get a room only rate).
By the way, breakfast is still included even if you don't get a package. Rooms ALWAYS come with breakfast. I paid about 110 Euro a night at SL - including breakfast. The AP's were 159 E. a piece, but you can also get one for 110 E. that has some blackout days - We stayed 7 nights so our entrances worked out to only about 22.50 per day... and of course we can go back again during the coming year and have free entrance, and get AP discount at the hotels....

Thanks. That is good to know. Of course that means the Disneyland Hotel room (when purchasing a package) for our dates in July costs $530 a night. And I thought $400 was bad .

That $530 would be for our family of 5 (2 adults, 2 children, 1 infant). Of course I don't thik that matters. I don't think any hotel room is worth over $500 a night regardless of how many people stay there.

Curious. Can ayone tell me what the AP discount is on DLP hotel rooms? Jodyb, if you don't mind me asking - which hotel did you book and what are the dates and rate?

I believe the rooms are 10% off with AP. THat's 10% off the room only rate, obviously. To see what those rates are check:

http://www.dlp-guide.com/HintsInfos/Hotels_Prices.htm

It looks like Disneyland Hotel would be 266 per night (for up to 5 people in room) - minus 10%. That's assuming everyone has AP's - breakfast is included, but no entrances.

I agree - the hotels at Disneyland Paris just aren't value for money, I just got a quote for a stay at the DL hotel in March (midweek/b&b only) of £300 per night! Let me say that again - THREE HUNDRED POUNDS per night - this is the basic no view not concierge rate. I mean, I'm sure the rooms are nice but this is hardly Florida people! I'm positive I could get a cheaper room at the Grand Floridian Hotel & Spa at WDW even before discounts (which by the way are much easier to come by at WDW then at DLP). At least in WDW I would be getting the real resort experience - 2 gorgeous resort pools and recreational facilities galore - not a muddled down resort (I use this term loosely) like at DLP with an indoor pool area that's hardly appropriate for a 4* hotel.
Of course I must admit that the fact that you get complimentary towels at the pool here is a huge advantage of staying here (I'm being sarcastic of course) as opposed to the Sequoia Lodge and Newport Bay Club where you have to pay extra for the use of towels regardless of the fact you still dished out almost £150 (March midweek/b&b) for the privilege of staying there.
Don't get me wrong I love the Disneyland Park (Not WDS) and thoroughly enjoy my 1-day visits but I would be hard pushed to spend the night there.
Better off saving your hard earned dough and spending it at WDW instead!

Philip

Philip, the price you were quoted at the Disneyland hotel includes ENTRANCES to the parks - and breakfast - neither of which are included at the DL - I think people forget when they compare prices that the Disneyland Paris hotels always quote package prices - whereas at WDW they almost alway are room only (and don't even include breakfast).
If the 300 per night you were quoted includes park tickets and breakfast for at least two people I think you are definitely in the same price ball park as the GF.

Thanks for the info Jody. That makes sense. The package price I was quoted is basically the rates you linked to, plus tax, including a 3 day park hopper.

So for our July timeframe Disneyland Hotel room only would be about $522 less 10%, or $470 a night (plus a couple bucks for tax). Still more than I'd be willing to spend, but an AP would save me about $55 a night. The AP would cost be about $70 more than the hopper. Probably not worth it to go through the AP and room only purchase trouble for a $40 savings. The convenience of the package is probably worth a little extra.

Compared to the WDW resorts the Paris resorts do seem rather expensive for what you get. You know what they say........location, location, location. Still not sure what we'll do.

As for that GF comparison, for the same July dates we are looking at the GF would be about $420 a night including tax. With a much nicer character breakfast thrown on it would still be cheaper per night than the Disneyland Hotel rates in Paris are for room only or a package less the cost of the tickets. As mentioned, discounts are much more common in WDW so you'd very likely pay less with a little leg work. So Paris is more expensive and offers less discounts. I'm curious as to what the occupancy rates are at the Disneyland Hotel. Most people consider rack rate at the GF to be waaaaayyyyyyy too expensive. I wonder of the DLP rates are prohibitive. Of course if occupancy rates are high the answer would be no. However, given the financial troubles DLP has been in I wonder how full the resorts really are.

Actually no - this is the price I was quoted by DLRP for a room only. I called two numbers - one in the UK, one in France - both prices came to within £30 of each other (due to exchange rate?).
