Is it possible to add existing FP+ to a newly purchased ticket?

My mother-in-law is coming to town and we are going to buy her a ticket to MK to go with us. My family all has annual passes and so I made FP+ reservations for us some time ago. It was kind of last minute that we planned on bringing her to the park and obviously her newly purchased ticket will not have those same FP+ reservations tied to it.

Now I know if she links her ticket to her Disney account I can then add her as a family member to my account and make FP+ reservations for her (I've done this with my sister in the past).

My question - is it possible to add her onto our FP+ reservations I already have? My guess is 'no'. I'll have to dump my FP+ reservations and start from scratch with her ticket so we can all get the same reservations. However this late in the game I'll be working with left-overs as far as FP+ goes :sad1:

Anyone have experience with this and know if it is possible? Maybe ask kindly as guest services or something at MK? Or maybe it is possible online or through the app and I don't know.

I wouldn't dump my FP, I would first try to copy them over to hers. They may or may not be avail. If they aren't then try to manually book her FP into a close timeslot as yours. Since it's only 1 FP it may not be too hard. Even if the times aren't exact if you have a window that matches up you can all ride together in that window that aligns. Hopefully that makes sense.

When you reserved your FPs, you requested a specific number of slots. You are looking to add another slot which would require you to book a new FP. MDE is set up so that people in the same group are not required to ride the same items. You will need to search for a FP around the same time as you have now, schedule a different time for one or more people, change your FP times/attractions or someone will miss out. Anyone in your group can use any of your scheduled FPs. They just need a band that has that FP still available.

In your MDE FP area, go to Change Party to add on the new guest. They'll be included in your FP group if there is availability.

Ok so this process was smooth! Got a ticket from AAA here in town. I did this because you get the physical card you can go right to the gate and provide thumbprint at the park. When I've bought from WDW Online, you get a piece of paper and then still have to wait in line at MK to trade the paper voucher for the real ticket and that line can eat 30+ minutes from one's day (I've made that mistake in past years).

Anywho, once I got the ticket I created a MDE account for the mother-in-law, linked to mine, and added her to our fast passes! There were a couple that didn't have availability, but some of the girls are scared of certain rides so I just got separate ones for Grandma to go on with them and it will be great!

So for anyone that reads this in the future, you do not need to dump passes and start over. You can attempt to add new guests (after linking accounts) to your existing FP+ reservations if there is availability. If there is not, you can just cancel the FP+ reservations that you desire and try to find new ones. :thanks:

Thanks for taking the time to confirm it works! The new FP system, modified in April, is proving to be much easier to add on new guests and also to provide for ease of park hopping.

Have a great trip. pixiedust:
