Is it possible I found the 1 topic the DIS has no answer for??

Hi!

::::I changed my thread title to mirror my shock that the DIS has no input for me. Just when I almost had my family & friends convinced that DISers are the source of all useful news and can answer ANY question. ::::::

I've been kind of MIA for a couple of months. Just very very busy!!!! Hope this finds you all well!!

I was curious if anyone here has experience with the Coast Guard Auxiliary and, if so, what can you tell me about it?

I think you need to post this on the community sub-board "united we stand", it is the military focused niche of the community board

I was in the Coast guard Auxiliary for awhile. I really enjoyed it. Good people. I had to quit because I can no longer do the boating part which is what I loved the most. If you like boats and you like people, you won't regret joining.

Thanks! I considered that. I thought since it's really a volunteer thing that I might get more responses here. But, I'll probably give it a shot there too!

Oh cool! Yes, I could absolutely live on a boat and, since I can't afford one at the mo, I thought it would be a great opportunity to get out on the water and learn boating. I want to get my boating pilot's license but I'm starting from scratch.

Where did you do it? I e-mailed the Auxiliary website and they said local groups would get in touch but they haven't. It's been about a month.
