Is it possible for the AP discount to be released to the general public too?

Just curious if it might get opened up for all at some point. Thanks!

They don't release the annual passholders discount to the general public. If they still have rooms to fill they sometimes will offer a less than generous room only discount to the public. This does not usually happen if there is a package code for the public to use. Rumor has it that a package code may be released today for the public for ticket upgrade. If they do release a room only discounts the savings will be less than the discount offered to the AP holders and Florida residents. If they gave the same discount to the general public, then it wouldn't be much of an AP perk.

There's always hope, OP. :surfweb: We used a general public room-only code a few years ago, and if I recall correctly, it came out shortly after the AP rate and was within $2-$4/night of the AP rate. Now granted, that was back in 2005 and each year we've found WDW discounts have become fewer and less generous as popularity keeps going up.

In fact, today/yesterday's AP rates are the "cheapest" we've seen and think we're going to stick with our AAA rate and buy non-expiring non-hopper tickets from Undercover rather than buying an AP.

found this on mousesavers for the 2007 yr:
4/15/07- 5/23/07 package and room-only discounts for general public 3/8/07, exp 4/14/07
So hopefully in a couple of wks they will release this for 2008. I'm not sure what the prices were like.
Lets keep our fingers crossed and I'll be watching:surfweb:
