Hello everyone, you guys have been so helpful in the past I was hoping that you would be able to help with this question:

Downgrading to a poolview room from CL this May so we can get the DDP, which would be better for us, a reg pool rm or one with bunk beds (we have a 6 yr old)?

I know room requests are only noted on the reservation but which general area should we ask for, room along the Zebra trail or Giraffe trail? The Zebra trail has that little off shoot building that looks great for what we would like, close to laundry, Simba's and elevator.

Which floor level should we request? We do not want to be level with pool, may find this noisey in the evening when trying to relax.

Any other great ideas for room location would be appreciated, we have decided that with the amount of time we will spend out of the lodge that CL just wouldn't be worth the extra money. Is the savanna room really that spectacular that we need to book that or will pool view do the trick? This is our first trip and we are doing 9 nights at the World and all these decisions are driving me crazy!!!!!!:scared1:

Thanks in advance, :flower3:

Yes, get the job first, the details will fall into place! pixiedust:

On another topic - we are getting MORE snow this weekend! Yikes! :scared1:

Hey, if you don't like it, you can always say no at the end of the temp part! Fingers crossed for you!

I keep my fingers crossed for you. What would you be doing?

Corinna

Jen,

Sending good vibes to you...Girl you need a break already!

Fingers crossed that something works out.

Thank you all!:grouphug:

The interview went great! :thumbsup2 Turns out we used to work at the same place, just not at the same time...So she didn't even need to ask me all the questions she was planning on asking me:laughing: She also said I was the best candidate so far..Told me and the agency lady that I was her favorite so far:woohoo: She does have a few people scheduled for interviews tomorrow...Said as long as no one tomorrow impresses her more the me, the job is mine.
It's a call center, but thats ok, that's all I've done for years anyway.
I should know tomorrow by 2pm.
If I get it, I'll start training on Tuesday...Training is 2 weeks..Then I'd be working 10-6:30 w/Wed & Sat off.
I can still be a travel agent, I'll never give that up!
Money during the temp period is not great, but if they keep me, it's a heck of a lot better:woohoo:
I'll let you all know what happens!

I keep my fingers crossed for you and hope that you get it. You have deserved a break. I work in a call centre environment, too. I always assumed that this would be my worst nightmare, but I have worked in the call centre for 5 years now and I am loving it. I have never experienced such good career progression opportunities everywhere else. I work for an airline.

Thanks, Corinna:hug: I've been in call centers since 1997, so I'm used to them, I just thought I'd be done with them by now:laughing: But no big deal, at least I know, rule wise, what I'm in for.
Airlines, huh? Cool, do you get discounts? I tried for years to get into the airport..I never had any luck.

Yes, we get heavy discounts on standby tickets on most major airlines and things like discounts on hotels, cruises, etc.

I know that DVC is on the 5th floor and here is our pool view from our studio when we stayed in April. I think it was on the Giraffe trail but I can't remember. The room number was 5018:goodvibes

I love pool view at AKL, I think it is very pretty and there are lots of public overviews of the savanna so you can still see the animals.

I like fourth floor which gives you the best views of the pool, lower floors might have trees between the balcony and the pool. Third floor is nice as well since it is the lobby level, so no stairs or elevators.

Zebra trail is good for access to Mara and the windows along the trail which overlook the savanna, Giraffe trail is great for quick access to the bus stop (there is a direct exit towards the trail leading to the bus stop). But generally, the whole pool area isn't that large, so any pool view room will still be quite central.

My request has always been 4th floor, Zebra trail and I have always gotten it! :thumbsup2

I hope this helps!

Hi Everyone :goodvibe

Can someone please tell me what the views are for a studio club level at Kidani? And also what the views are for a studio club level at Jambo house?
Which one do you prefer and why? Thanks for all the info!!! :)

...I don't know about the views at Kidani, but from wht I remember, the views aren't quite as good at Jambo. We did CL at Jambo House but requested a 4th floor room instead...

That was a great shot of the pool view, I will definetly enjoy that view for 9 nights... Has anyone stayed in the bunkbed rooms? Do they actually have any more space or does the removal of the second bed for the bunk get filled with something else to show the same floor spacing? just thinking i'll have more room to set my purchases/suitcases with a bunk bed :lmao:

Well, your pixie dust and good thoughts worked..I got the job:woohoo:
As you all know it's temp to perm, but myself and the company see no reason why, with all my experience that I wouldn't become perm:goodvibes
I start Tuesday, 2 weeks of training 8:30am-4:00pm.
After training the hrs are 10:00-6:30pm, 8:30am-5pm on Saturdays, Thurs & Sun off:thumbsup2 I like those days off, Scott is off from HD those 2 days...And I can make Dr appointments for dad on Thursdays.
Hopefully, in 3 months, I can become permanant, get benefits, and better pay!:yay:
