First to PN04te prayers being said for your husband.

Since this seems to be the most active AKL thread, I was wondering if anyone could answer the following 2 questions:

If you have stayed CL level, they say there is a special coffee pot. Is it hard to use and what can you make with it. Would you be able to do something like a Mocha??

And Jiko, I have it booked for my birthday. Is it all that? Should I change to Boma or Sanaa?? Thanks. Diane.

The coffee machine is an espresso/cappuccino machine, and yes they have Hot Cocoa there you can mix with coffee to make a Mocha. As far as the pods to use they just have two varieties, regular and decafe coffee. The machine is not hard to use, and it has steamed milk.

As far as Jiko, it is very nice. See if you sit at the cooking place, just ask at the desk when you sign in. The food and people are amazing. Be sure to tell them it is your birthday when you make the reservation. I have pictures from Jiko in my TR from this past October.

Good morning, everyone. I have been absent because my husband had a stroke on Monday and is in ICU in critical condition. He is not out of the woods but there are some positive signs. Please keep Bob in your thoughts. Thanks. :goodvibes:

Oh no! pixiedust: and prayers coming your way! :grouphug: I hope that he gets better soon.

We booked a car with them on our last trip and they came and picked us up at the resort. There are two locations, one at the swan and dolphin area and the other is at Car Care Center...

Find more info here...http://www.mousesavers.com/onedayrentals.html

I think that is Almo and National at the car care center .

Whew...happy to be back over here. I wandered over to another resort board and couldn't feel "the love." No one answered any of my questions. (blows into hand and smells breath) :confused3. ANYWHOO..... I may have to add Kidani back to our list of resort choices if that is any indication of the climate at the YC/BC. We are currently looking at BLT, CR, YC/BC or BCV. We've never stayed at any of the above and we currently booked at CR. Of course our favorite stay so far has been Kidani. Loved everything about it! :cloud9:. BLT would be closest type to the 1BR at Kidani...Loved the chair/bed and sleeper sofa for the 2 boys. BUT, we were thinking about an Epcot resort. May end up at Kidani........ I'm so glad to be among Jambo family again....It's cold out there on the other resort boards. :sad1:

We stayed only one night at BLT in April and after having spent over a week in a value studio at AKL and going to a 1 bedroom, I didn't like BLT. The room was too big for us (I know weird problem) and I couldn't keep a close eye on the kids like I can in our little room. But our major disappointment was how blah the resort was compared to the exotic colors of AKL. I don't think we will be staying there again.

They need a Kimmar over there! :thumbsup2 They have no leader on that thread -- unlike here where we have the best! ;)

So true :thumbsup2 (even if she is a JETS fan:lmao:)

Thank you everyone. I got to "talk" to him a bit today, so that was encouraging. He is still in critical but stable condition, so keep those good thoughts and prayers headed his way. :goodvibes

.....:scratchin hmmm, interesting. Funny, had a similar experience on 'another thread' too...

 As far as I know Jiko is very upscale , VERY GOOD wine list , great ambiance and also very romantic ; food is outstanding (I am ITALIAN and found the food they serve to have a little Mediterranean flavor).
BOMA used to be our favorite restaurant at AKL :at their buffet you can taste very "strange" food you (maybe) don't usually get at your home town , they have many "stations" and you can have a sample / go back to have more... if you liked it. If you are not too adventurous about food there is also a roastbeef and potatoes station !!!

I said that Boma used to be our favorite restaurant ,
because now we are in love with the new Sanaa : we tried their "sample" menu on our last visit and had a BLAST ! the trio-dessert was to die for !!! Can't wait to go back and try new plates this August.
Food is "exotic" - IMHO more than at Jiko !!
and a plus is the view you get from most tables : we saw lots of giraffes while dining ! AWESOME !!!
Enjoy your special meal !!! Laura
...we need pix, gurl-fren....;)

Thanks for the reply. You all seem so very nice, so I thought maybe I could put out our trip information and get a little critique. I have to admit the first 3 days are at POFQ, so I hope that doesn't immediately get me thrown out of the club!:lmao:

In October DH and I will be celebrating our 20th. wedding anniversary. Kids and I booked an excellent party but a few weeks ago he came home and told me that his boss had put his vacation time in. One week before, the week of and one week after our anniversary. He works for a small company and can not get even the day of our anniversary off, less the party we planned. So he was quite surprised when I started weeping like a baby and then got angrier than any of the animals on the Savannah. The trip was a surprise for him. So he decided to turn it around and surprise me for my birthday Mid February. We haven't been away without the kids in over 19 years. Okay enough rambling. Oh except for we have never in 15 plus visits stayed at either moderate or deluxe, only value.

We are staying 3 nights POFQ with deluxe dining, and 3 nights AKL CL. The deluxe dining ends the 4th. day, which is my bday.

So far I have the following planned

Arrive Sunday - MK open until midnight, one ADR Kona at 7:30ish for dinner.

Day 2 - Animal Kingdom, breakfast at food court for beignets, lunch at Yak and Yeti, dinner at The Turf Club, night in DTD (this is Valentines day)

Day 3 - Epcot, breakfast at 1900 Park Faire (only character meal), I am going to try to get a lunch at LeCellier walk up:confused3... Okay you can stop laughing now;)! Dinner is in France.

Day 4 - My birthday and move to AKL. Breakfast at Boma then check in. Another MK day since it is my favorite park, lunch at LTT, and either dinner at Jiko or if we get LeCellier I would need a suggestion here....

Day 5 - MGM day, breakfast in the lounge, CS lunch, a few light snacks in the CS then Fantasmic. If we are hungry we will do something light. I am sure we will be a bit "bloated" by then

Day 6 - Breakfast in the lounge. Then my surprise to DH. He has been such a blessing to me. So I booked the Keys to the Kingdom Tour for him and the Wishes Dessert Party (he absolutely loves this and tried so hard to get it for my bday, he even cried a bit when he couldn't.

Day 7 - Last day, DTD, last minute shopping, use the PH credit, cry a lot, and fly home. At least it is the last flight home....

So any suggestions, changes, or am I out for being a chatterbox:dance3::scared1:

Your plans sound great! :thumbsup2 You have never stayed in a Mod or Deluxe? Are you ever in for a treat!! :cloud9: First, POFQ is a wonderful resort - one of my favorites (and if you check my ticker, I'll be at POFQ & AKV in just 2 weeks!!! :yay:) FQ is undergoing a refurbishment so it will be more wonderful than ever! Enjoy!!!! :goodvibes

Maybe it's because I'm still on my first cup of coffee, but I don't understand Day 4. Are you saying if you got LeCellier the day before, then you'd want something different than Jiko? Also, why don't you save the Boma breakfast money and check in at AKL-CL and have breakfast in the lounge? ;) AKL-CL has the BEST breakfast of any of the CL's. :goodvibes
