All of the Pembe pictures were taken from all balcony including the sunrise photo. I didn't post it, but you could actually see the top of Everest from our balcony along with the tops of the MK fireworks.

They may be a bit mis-leading in that we were on the 4th floor and my point & shoot camera actually has a 16x zoom on it. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the Pembe savanna even though there weren't any giraffes or zebras. Except for when we first got up in the morning, there was almost at least one or 2 animals outside. We were in room 7863 I think. It is in the second to last bead near the elevator.

The 11 month window opened up for my WDW trip next August with my niece. So I called right at 9 this morning and was able to book a 1 BR Concierge room at AKV for the first 7 nights of our trip! Our actual trip will be 10-11 days but I couldn't book that far yet. I am thinking about switching to a savanna view room for the last few nights so that we will be guaranteed to have a savanna view for at least part of the trip. Plus I won't have to worry about calling day by day to add the additional nights.

If your DH can not drink for health reasons I wouldn't worry. Mine can't and he always has one or two Zebra Domes with no ill effects.

I thought the concierge rooms were all savannah views - is this not correct or does the fact that it is a 1 bedroom verses a studio make a difference?

...some are still pool-view and some of the savannahs are different...

All AKL-CL rooms are Savanna View. It's the 6th floor AKV villas (there aren't many but they're all Club Level) that may not have a SV. One side is savanna view, the other side is pool view.

Torsie, you'd have to be staying at Kidani for Pembe. Since you requested Arusha, I'm guessing you're booked at AKV-Jambo?

Looking forward to some ZDs (all the folks in the know call them ZDs, right?). We have all our ADRs made and my spreadsheet is up to date. Hi everyone! We are so excited. Our trip begins in 5 short days!

I have a question. Does anyone know what time Victoria Falls closes in the evening? We noticed that the Concierge Lounge closes at 10pm and we were wondering if cocktails will be available after that at VF.

We are still tweaking our ADRs (can you believe it?), and we are hoping for a late dinner at Jiko one night, followed by a nightcap. But we probably won't get out of our dinner until after the CL closes.

I would look @ making the reservation for Simba's Clubhouse now, as the booking window for that did open @ 120 days. Usually can get a walk up though, but I wouldn't want to risk it
