I'm back! Despite the cold snap that blew in just as we arrived, it was a fantastic trip. Of course, the Disney portion was waaaaay too short. But we packed a lot into 2 days and really enjoyed the Food and Wine Festival. On our way out of Orlando, I made a quick pit stop to pick up these little beauties:

Currently we are at Beach Club Villas, our home resort, since I had the 11 month window. But every year I have changed to Jambo House so who knows....

Well, we're at Kidani for this trip and at Jambo house for the 2011 trip. Hopefully at the 7 mth. window you can snag the lodge or kidani!!

Getting ready to make my room request. I want to make sure that I'm not over a people pen. So, from what I've read the best way to assure this is to request Arusha trail?

Ummm.....newbie to this thread, AKL Jambo owner since Feb 2008! Also getting ready to book a couple of post-cruise nights at AKL in January---can someone clarify what this means above? "People pen??" We've always stayed at Jambo (our last trip was 7 days in a Grand Villa- so everything else will pale in comparison, I'm sure!!)- but would like to try a Savannah View over in Kidani....they're showing availability for our nights- but where's the best SV to request over there? Let me know ASAP, DISers!

Bad news I didn't get the job..I was totally shocked..They didn't even want to meet with me to interview me Agency guy said they were impressed with my customer service background, but they need someone stronger in collections. Well, I told him the day he called me, that I did collections for only 6 months, they were medical collections, and I had to leave the job, I was having a difficult time trying to collect money from people dying of cancer, or people about to lose their home because of the economy. I didn't tell him this-but my doc said either I go on anti anxiety meds to keep working there or leave. Thats how bad it was. But this job was only 150 collection calls a week and it was people that didn't pay their installed alarm bills...Thats a lot different. Sorry for rambling, but I've been crying for hours...God bless my sweet (and still unemployed fiance) he just say Hakuna Matata We'll find something when the time is right.

They don't have a Mara like option @ Kidani, but it's only a few minutes walk to Mara. We like Mara, too and have made the walk, especially for breakfast, quite a few times.
Kidani has a table service restaurant, that has quickly become my fav It's called Sanaa, and I will be having my birthday dinner there 22 days from now.
They have limited food @ the pool bar (love the pool bar, some of the best CM's anywhere)


If anyone is curious, I am listening to Live365 on the internet now, it's Wednesday, which means from 2pm-4pm EST they play 2 hr block of AK & AKL music!

So....for those of you here, do you think that using DVC pts for a concierge/club level room at Jambo would be a better option than Kidani SV?

Just want to make the very BEST ressie I can for the fam! (Kidani wasn't even finished when we were there early last year- so we'll go visit it otherwise....)
