So I have been going through our December budget and I am going to do the Sunrise Safari for the 4 of us. I am also sending the kids alone to do the Keys to the Kingdom tour as their Christmas gift.

Now my only debate is the Wayanama Sunset tour for DH and I for our gift this year. I have to do the pros/cons.

So my question is, DH and I do not drink wine. Do you think they could substitute something, like maybe one drink? This is really making my decision hard.

I was allergic to wine when I was younger, and I wonder if I could try starting with some lowest contents that people are allergic to. Can't think of the name it this time.

DH has the TV blasting, and getting my thoughts together is almost impossible. GRRR!!!!!

My DH and I went on the Wanyama Safari in 2004; loved it. I would like to go again, but DH thinks the price is too high.

A few posters have mentioned that they did not want the wine with dinner. They were offered non-alcoholic beverages. I don't think it would hurt to ask if a mixed drink could be substituted for the wine.

Hi all! My family will be at AKL in September. My parents are going with us, and my mother is very frail. They may stay back at the lodge a few days. How can I request a savannah view room? Do I need to call ahead of time, or can I request it when I check in?

Geesch, I even threw a bathrobe and a couple beach towels in there to try to make it full!!! I still have room!! And as usual, I packed at least twice as many clothes as I could possibly need!! Looks like I can do some shopping at DTD!!

Sorry I didn't quote, welcome to the new poster. Savanna Room is a category s you have to actually have it on your reservation and it cost more than a normal room. Then there is the Arusha view which is another savanna view. Look through this category and there is another thread dedicated to AKL/AKV. It has the map of the resort handy.

Once you pick the room type, then you can put in requests like low/high floor, close to pool, close to elevator. If you can't find it come back and let us know, I will look for you, I have just been under the weather today.
