How exciting for you!! I'm a little jealous. :goodvibes

We have never had to claim/recheck bags on a layover. Generally the baggage handlers at the airport transfer luggage from your first plane to the second plane.

Enjoy your trip, and enjoy AKL! We love it there!

yay, it's so much fun not claiming bags!! Our our last trip in August 2009, for whatever reason we never got the luggage stickers in the mail and had to claim our bags at the Orlando airport, it was such a drag!

Thanks! I can't wait to go. We leave 3 days after I take my final for the semester so I hope these next 12 weeks fly by. But I have to do well in school the rest of the semester or I won't feel like I earned this vacation!

Athenna: thank you.
Anytime:goodvibes

We just booked our airfare this morning :) I'm super excited, this time we are flying out of a smaller airport that is only about an hour from where we live, as opposed to driving 2.5 hours to DC, or Baltimore. Not only does this save on gas, but we won't have to get up as early, deal with traffic, or long lines at security. Parking is also free, so that saves us probably close to $100. And, on the way back we can stop and eat at the Sonic that just opened up in the town. Before the only time I got to eat at Sonic was when we went down south, or when I went to visit my brother who lives over 4 hours away.

I have a question about Magical Express. This will be the first time we'll have a layover. When we check our bags at the first airport, do we need to claim them when we get to DC, or do they keep going to Orlando? What about on the way back? When we check them in at AKL, will we have to claim them in DC and recheck them before we get on our 2nd plane?

We got a huge snow storm today so I keep looking at pictures of the pool at AKL - so ready for hot weather & swimming in 12 weeks!

Enjoy your trip, you're gonna love it:banana:

Hey - feeling much better!! The horrible cough is pretty much gone! Thanks!!

Good!:thumbsup2

Thanks for all the well wishes. I was at the drs. first thing this morning. While he is concerned with the HBP he truly believes that the pain and shock is to blame for that. We are adding one new pill and he hopes in the next few weeks that will resolve itself.

As for the injury, he is more concerned with that. My neck is not holding in a good position and the headaches are getting more intense. Vision is being affected. So I had a full cervical and spine xray set done alone with a shoulder series and the bottom of my cranium.

When the person hit me from behind, it caused a huge pain in the front, near my rib cage area. So I had a sonogram for that today. I need to give my blood in the next few days, but back to bedrest for me.

I need to get a letter off to Disney with the official drs. notes and test results.

Please keep me in your thoughts that it isn't really bad, I jut have a gloom feelng right now.

Again, thanks for caring.

Still thinking of you, and sending pixie dust:hug::wizard:

...thinking about you and Scott - hang in there!

Thanks, Kim:hug: We're hanging in there!

Oh my! I hope that you start getting better soon. pixiedust:

We are in a 1 bedroom standard view in May at Kidani. Which would be the best location to request? We would like to be close to elevator and pools. We have a car and will probably drive to parks so location close to the bus is not as important.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! We can't wait for our first stay at Kidani!!

I will continue to send positive vibes for you. I'm hoping there is no permanent damage of any kind. Keep resting. :flower3:

...shamelessposttoinformyouofanothertrippieupdate....that is all - carry on...

Well, bedrest for me, at least for a while, and some good drugs. I am going to update my posts today. It will probably take all day, and please disregard any typo's...

I think I will just go ahead and get rid of the bad in this post. Things that maybe I should have not expected, and questions I should have asked before hand...

... I got checked in by a girl in a corner of the front desk. She gave me my keys, a booklet, told us to read it over, and showed us the elevator. That was it. Nothing else. We had to ask other guests how to use the keys, get to our room, etc.

... Our TV was broke, took 2 days to fix

... I had charging privledges and my card said so, but the girl forgot to link it. Quite embarrassing when you are rejected paying for your meal. Thankfully DH had his card in his wallet. I don't carry mine, scared it will be lost, that's why I link it. Ugh, I still want to cry!

... The CL workers never broke a smile, never said hello, and to this day, do not know who DH or I am.

... We had to clear tables to eat every single time.

... Asked a question, got a rude answer.

... Pre-arranged water for my meds and DH was told they can't do it, so instead of just ordering from Garden Grocer, I paid full price at the parks.

... They lost my luggage from POFQ to AKL along with my meds (my error - but they assured me it would be fine)

... Animals are not allowed out in the morning, DH was devastated.

... Funny. but not funny. The commode was not higher up as promised and the door was so heavy that one morning I went in to take my shower. DH went for a walk. I couldn't open the door. I was stuck for an hour in the bathroom. :lmao: Funny now, not then!!

Okay, be honest, was I expecting too much or were we just lost in the crowd. Trust me, they knew the Senator and his family, they were all over them!

Yikes, these are NOT good! :confused3

Anybody been where I am now? Tell me it's just a rut and it will all be over in 9 days. We are :drive: Wednesday, staying in Port Canaveral, and kicking it off Thursday.
I think I need a DisBoard :grouphug:

I know I have been there too. I know I have a problem because I will get depressed weeks before our trip just thinking about it being over so quickly. The only good remedy for this is to plan another trip:lmao:

...that explains the hairballs in the pool - the animals knew it was heated....
.
:lmao:

!

That is too bad that you had a less than magical trip. I hope you feel better.

But what animals are not allowed out in the morning?:confused3 The animals are out all day and night. They don't take them in unless they are sick or want to come in. I had even asked about the animals when we went in December because it was so FRIGIN cold I thought for sure the animals were going to freeze, but the CM said no they stay outside.:scared1:

:rotfl:I am not ready to plan another yet! Although I am determined to do a Disney 5k at least in 2012 (hopefully a half marathon)-- my shameless way of getting back to Disneyworld sooner rather than later. :thumbsup2 but not planning to travel with 7 people next time.

The house is slooooooooowwwwwwlllly coming together. I have just decided that time is not on my side this time around. :rolleyes1

As I complain about exhaustion I have been on rental car web sites everyday trying to find that next cheapest deal. Today I snagged a rental for $355 for 10 days. I am excited given that our very first quote a couple months ago was $615! I'm a hopeless "know there's a better deal out there" planner.

I did tell my DD4 to start packing last night. Too cute. I checked her suitcase after she declared herself done. She had packed two pair of underwear, 1 dressy dress, 1 casual skirt and blouse, her new Disney lanyard, and a baby photo of herself. :lmao:
