Oooh, Chococat, tell me all about your VR!!

As for quiet spots in AKL...often the Arusha overlook was pretty quiet whenever we went out, I'm sure people wouldn't mind hanging back for a minute or two for your photos.

Or the DVC lounge area in the lobby is lovely, and was often deserted.

Who are your photographers?

Ours (the Roots) love doing first looks, and I think the photos are amazing, but Jack is really excited to not see me until the WP doors open - which I totally understand.

Can't wait to see your photos!

I think it depends on time of day what would be a good quite spot for your first look.

I agree with Torsie that the Arusha outlook could be nice. If you are doing this in the morning, you could even do it inside the doors of the outlook and you could have a grand entrance coming down those stairs.

Also at Jambo the library next to the concierge desk is a nice place, there is also a balcony which overlooks Sunset savanna.

Possibly the flamingo overlook behind the Jambo pool might be a nice spot as well. But I am not so sure you would want to walk past a crowded pool.

....are they a franchise? [ BTW ~ I love that pic on their home page with the mirror!]

I'm here right now guys. AHHHHH. I will see the zebra domes tomorrow. :goodvibes Not too many animals for the last 4 days on the souther sunset savannah. :( I'd walk to other ones if my autistic son wasn't being such a pill. :guilty: Oh well. Still have a few more days here. Any pictures anyone wants?

:goodvibes Any pics will do. Is the resort decorated yet for Christmas?:santa:

Ok, guess what we did today? Well, what else would 2 unemployed people do?:sad2:

In case we can afford it, we booked our 2011 DVC WDW vacation:thumbsup2

Oct 15th-23rd

1st 3 nights @ AKLV Concierge:cool1:
5 nights @ SSR, which we hope to switch to BWV, but it's F & W so it'll be tough, and it may not happen.

Of course, if our situation doesn't get better, we'll cancel, of course. But we figured since we had the points we'd do something with them.

Oooh I hadn't thought of that lounge I'll scout it on the first days of our trip, we are arriving several days before the ceremony so I have time to check out potential spots and let my photogs know. We are using Studio 222, they have been amazing to work with so far.

Great point about the stairs! The first look would be around 11:30-12:00 in the morning, I am hoping most people will be out of the resort by then, so it won't be overly crowded.

I have never checked the library, can you believe it? I will have to spend some time there this go around. There is a balcony there you say? oooh this has possibilities!

Yeah I am not so sure about walking past the pool on my dress, it has a semi-cathedral train and I am clumsy... chaos could ensue :rotfl2:

...whoa, wait a second - your photographers are 'the ROOTS'....WTH??? :scratchin

LoL Ah it would be cool if it were the musical "Roots" they can drop some awesome beats and invite John Legend along while they take your photos.:lmao:

My DS will be turning 6 on our trip and he loves birthday cake. We're staying AKL Jambo and I'm trying to decide between Sanaa dinner with a birthday cake there, or just have a cake brought to our room. I thought about Boma but there are already so many yummy desserts there that I don't think anyone would eat the cake. What do you suggest? Do I call the cake hotline or private dining? Thank you!

Paula

I've been known to be totally unrealistic about my finances when it comes to a Disney trip. DH has to drag me back down to earth. :rolleyes1
