We would love to check out the California Grill, but we are thinking of buying an appetizer(maybe the cheese board) to split and/or maybe just dessert, instead of using two dinner credits. Is this frowned upon? We really just want to check it out this trip around!

It would be perfectly okay, it's just like any other restaurant that you would go to at home, you order what you want. DH and I sometimes go the appetizer and cocktail route, and sometimes dessert or sometimes we move to another spot for dessert. Lots of options on the monorail resorts.

We are doing the same thing! Can't wait to see Hallowishes from CG over cocktails and dessert :-)

Are you just there for the dinner--or rather, partial dinner--or just a cheap way to see the fireworks???

Is it really that objectionable to go there without ordering an entrée? I'm usually at the bar, but even if I'm at a table, I don't order the entrees. A couple of appetizers and a few drinks or some wine. 2 appetizers can cost as much as one entrée, and there are those who order an entrée and no appetizers or dessert.

My cousin and I have reservations for our last night there. We have been debating the dining plan, which she likes, but I have not used as I did not like the setup. If we go the DDP, I would probably pay out of pocket for this one, at least right now.

Although the entrees like intriguing, I am currently being drawn to the flatbread, charcuterie, cheese board and nigri. If I was there right now, I would probably order the charcuterie and nigri along with a salad and finish with dessert. Add in my cocktails or wine and I would be a very happy girl.

We will be there at 5:25. We won't be camping out for fireworks. Rather, it's our first getaway without the kids and I have been told by numerous people that CG is a romantic restaurant with great atmosphere. We were thinking about splitting an app, the cheese sounds good to us, or maybe just dessert, depending on what we feel like that evening after going to Epcot. I am only explaining all of this so you can better understand my question, I hope.

Thank you to everyone for your answers! It sounds like a great experience for us to add to our adult only trip!
