Is it necessay to start making your fast pass reservations at midnight/1 am?

For a late October onsite stay - I was planning just to make my reservations during normal daytime hours on my day!

We aren't trying for Anna/Elsa, does the Mine Train (or anything else) require me to start at midnight?

A&E and perhaps Mine Train are currently the only ones that may require a midnight booking for maximum flexibility in choices. By late October (or booking in late August), that may change for the better and next-morning bookings improve.

Agreed. A & E are really the only reason you need to be on at midnight. Even Mine Train has some available later in the day I think because it has a higher capacity. But like Mesaboy said, for the most flexible choices in times, midnight is best.

But other stuff, no... you can wake up at a normal hour.

I did mine about 45 days out which is when I booked the whole vacation. I didn't look at A&E because we weren't interested so I don't know what was available. The earliest Mine train available was around noon. Everything else in all parks was wide open.

i booked this morning at sixty days and the mine train had any availability I wanted.

The only thing I booked at 60 days (and not at midnight!) was Mine Train. We weren't interested in Anna and Elsa. Now we are 2-3 weeks out and I can still pretty much get anything except Mine Train and A&E.
