Is it misleading that some resort counter service locations are open 24 hours?

Then I'm very confused about what we're discussing, or rather why we're discussing anything.

Please help. Is this thread about the food selection in the middle of the night at a restaurant that has been closed for somewhere in the vicinity of three years?
It's about the locations at the Polynesian and Grand Floridian because I don't remember seeing sings there saying when their grills close and I used the Food & Fun Center as an example because like Captain Cook's and Gasparilla's Grill & Games, they are also open 24 hours.

I know that Captain Cook's at the Polynesian and Gasparilla's Grill & Games at the Grand Floridian say they are open for 24 hours which is true since there are always Cast Members working, however is part of that a bit misleading? .

You ask about Cpt Cook's and Gasparilla. You don't know if there is a sign listing the hours the grill is open. You don't know if guests at the GF and POLY are informed what time the grill is open.

I don't understand how you have the basis to form an intelligent opinion.

Other posters in this thread have stated that when they check into the Polynesian or the Grand Floridian, their Welcome paperwork includes information on the grill operating hours at those resorts' respective quick-serve locations.

It's likely that the information is also posted IN the restaurants. But it's provided to the people most likely to be patronizing these locations in the middle of the night in a readily-accessible form, i.e. paperwork they keep in their rooms.

Another poster has provided a sign from one of those locations showing the grill hours and no, the grill ISN'T open all night. And respectfully, the Food & Fun Center isn't a good example because it's not open at all. Things change in three years.

I think if the grill closes at 10, then yes, it should be posted. Because if I was going into a counter service restaurant that claimed to be open 24 hours a day, I'd expect to be able to order off the menu. I mean, that's just smart business, in my opinion.

And on another note, I think some people (and by NO means, ALL) that have the opposite opinion are being extremely rude and hard on the OP. It's fine to have another opinion, but it's another thing entirely to talk to someone in a condescending manner simply because you don't agree with them.

MickeyDee, the OP is using as his example a restaurant that's been closed for over three years. He cites two other restaurants in comparison; one of those does absolutely have a sign indicating the hours its grill is open. It could reasonably be extrapolated that the other restaurant, too, even if it didn't have such signage three years ago, does now.

In addition, others have posted that the information is handed to hotel Guests - the most likely patrons of these restaurants at the odd hours at issue (my assessment) - when they register.

I wish the Marketplace at BC was open 24 hours. They closed at 11:00 PM when I was there. I wanted to refill my mug and it was about 3 minutes past 11:00. I was out of luck. At least at Capt Cooks and Gasparillas you can fill your mug 24/7.

That is wonderful, really. A sign though, posting operational hours - that ALL patrons of these restaurants could see, and at all hours - might be nice too.

Just a thought.

See post 38. The Captain Cook's menu sign does show the grill operating hours, in a picture taken in, I think, 2010. Again, it can be reasonably extrapolated that there would be similar information posted inside Gasparilla Grill.

Why not in the Food & Fun Center? Because that restaurant closed in 2007. According to the original poster, its replacement, Contempo Cafe, closes completely at midnight - so unless the grill there closes earlier, there's no need to post such information in that restaurant.

Hey, for me as long as they have the soda fountains running I'm happy!

As for the closure of the grill overnight, well I suppose the line has to be drawn somewhere. Sure it would be great if they could advertise it as "Limited overnight service" or something like that, but really I don't mind. And as others have said, Room Service is always available :)

Closing this thread now.

As stated up-thread, this is a discussion about a restaurant that closed three years ago and how they did it three years ago.

Current eateries have signage that show hours of grill operation, so this question is a non-issue for those planning their dining experience at Disney.
