Is it me or is Disney Quest Lame

My family went before going to the airport home. I have to say i didnt enjoy it. It was too loud, busy and flurocent for my liking. Everything was so OTT, and SUCH long lines. All of my family hate simulator rides, so all of those were a bust. We did do the drawring class, but the one in MGM is 1000x better. Not only did it cost you to keep ur drawring, it was hard to draw with the pencils and the touch screen, and the whole thing was very rushed. The mgm experience was better with real pencils and paper, that you could take home for free.

There are parts I like, and parts I dislike. I have been when the lines for the simulators and games are crazy busy. That's not fun at all.

We were also lucky enough to go one evening last July and for some reason it wasn't busy at all! It made such a difference. We did PoC twice, the virtual reality helmet thing a couple of times too. I'm no good at that by the way :) . Also the rowing in the raft game had just a 5 minute wait.

I don't know why but I love the human pinball. I was thrilled to get the hig score one time.

I don't like how some gamers just stay at the game for what seems like hours non-stop. I have only so much patience with waiting behind them, then I give up.

It can get very very noisy and that gets to me sometimes.

All in all, I will return. I'm just a kid in an adult disguise (31). I'm also female and I like video games!!!!! Does that make me freaky? NO, it's just a little eccentricity princess:

We went everynight from 9pm-11pm the whole 7 days we were there last time. My ds and dh LOVED it but they love to play video games. I enjoyed myself and feel it is worth it for the cheesecake!! We have premuim passes so we didn't pay for it or else I might not have thought it was that great. We never really had to wait in line for any of the games. I did have a blast playing disney trivia one night.

This is my feeling about ALL of the arcades in Disney, especially the one near Space Mountain. I can see going in there if you don't go on the ride, to play 1 or 2 games to kill time, but there are people that go in there and spend more than that. I feel like going up to them and saying "YOU'RE IN DISNEY WORLD - GO DO SOMETHING THAT YOU CAN'T DO AT CHUCK E CHEESE!"

Funny, because I disagree. I agree with you about all the other arcades at Disney - I'm not a big fan of arcades anyway, and I certainly don't want to spend my Disney vacation playing games I could easily play elsewhere.

But DisneyQuest to me is different. I avoid the arcade-style games and spend my time on the simulators and virtual reality games. There's nothing like Virtual Pirates of the Caribbean or Virtual Jungle Cruise where I live, and I enjoy these as fun, family-friendly entertainment.

That said, I wouldn't go when DQ is crowded, I wouldn't spend an entire day at DQ, and I wouldn't go to DQ instead of going to a park. But for me, it's a really nice add-on, especially if you can go early in the morning and avoid the crowds. :)

DS10 and I went for the first time last week, and I was glad I knew what to expect. I read a magazine and half a book while I followed him around. We were there right at opening, so he did get to play most of the games he wanted, however it got more crowded as the day wore on, and many people (customers and CMs both) were not the most pleasant. DS knew about the "code" of sharing, but a lot of other players (both kids and adults) just stayed on and on the same game. He really enjoyed the five hours we spent there (cheesecake saved me), but I sure wouldn't put it above the parks as a priority. If it didn't have "disney" in the title, I don't think it'd be recognizable as a disney owned property.

I thought it was lame, but DH liked it. I just felt like such a dork wearing head gear to play some of the games.

It was different. Me and my brother did it while our parents went to PI. Lines were long. We really like the Jungle Cruise. (Did it twice) Also did pirates and the alien thing. But that's all. It was obviously the teen hangout as was evidenced when we went through the video games. Am I glad I did it? Yes. Will I do it again? NO!

I am 33 year old video gamer and I used to love Disney Quest, but in the last year or two it just doesn't to have the latest games.

Maybe its just me.

But hey, to each his own.

I can swim at home too....but I still go in the pool...

Mmmmmm didn't the Disney Quest in downtown Chicago close down only after a few years of being open....? :rolleyes1 :confused3

We tried Disney Quest on our trip in 2004. I really didn't car for it. I read about it in the Unofficial Guide while getting ready for this year's trip and was getting psyched. I mean, I read that they have glow in the dark ski ball!! Needless to say we didn't make it there this trip because we were so busy doing other things, but I'm not super disappointed that it didn't get another try.

I ONLY go for the cheesecake. ;)

It's not so much the video games that are lame to me, it's the layout of the darned building. The whole stacked floors thing is just stupid for a place that gets so crowded.
