Is it just me or does this bother anyone else???

I am quite sure that Disney is getting a piece of the pie, so to speak, as far as those pressure washing companies go. ;) They have cracked down about outside cart rentals..but they have placed NO restrictions on the pressure washing companies. Gotta be that they make money off of it, and are willing to look the other way. All I know is that if I traveled some 1200 miles with my travel trailer to FW and had to hear the drone of power washing day after day..I'd be pretty upset about it.:headache: Especially considering what Disney is charging for those premium sites these days.
I wonder ...has anyone ever complained to management about the noise?..or inquired as to why this goes on to begin with?:confused3 I'd be very curious as to their response. Maybe the Fort management needs to hear more often from those campers who have found this situation to be annoying. It's supposed to be a campground not a car wash.
I can certainly understand the need to clean your rig after a long trip..but that can be done quietly with a hose..no need to power wash while you're in a campground. :sad2: For the same money, you could buy a power washer and do it when you get home.:thumbsup2
I would think that if this is a service that many people desire, that Disney should designate a specific area as to where this can be done without bothering fellow campers. Maybe a specific loop..or even a designated area where you can line up and get the rigs washed? Certainly something to consider and would make everyone happy. Clean rigs..and happy campers.
I also feel a good many people who visit the Fort do so to enjoy the Fort..not just the parks. We have been to Disney many times..and don't have a need to be in the parks all day. The idea of a camping vacation is to enjoy the campground. Fort Wilderness has a host of amenities that one can enjoy. Oh..and we don't have a pop up or a dog that we travel with. Lucky us..he gets car sick..lol!

while were at it, please do something with that annoying house keeping disney forces on us, lovey and I stayed at the grand floridian and they actually vacuumed the room next to us during the day! and then moved to the hall, and then the next room, I'll tell you, all that noise and such,, well it was just rude. Time for cocktails, cheerio!:rotfl:

It's amazing how I posted the same sort of post a couple months back about the annoying pressure washing and everything else associated with it and I got SLAMMED by people who own the big rigs. To the point that I had to appologize to them to still be considered a "friend" on this site. I guess every forum site has it's "clicks" and favorite members :(

You don't have to apologize, everyone and their opinion is, or a least should be, welcomed. The clicks won't slam you, they ignore you..LOL!

PS, In no way am I to be counted as a click member.

Apologize? For having an opinion?

Who needs friends like that?

What would you bet the glosstitute users that subject their neighbors to the din of pressure washers wouldnt bat an eye at calling the front desk if they thought someone's music was a bit loud and intrusive on THEIR time at FW?

Sorry to hear you felt that way. I've found most folks who participate in this forum are willing to share their opinions..and don't begrudge an opposing view. I mean...we're all campers and enjoy Disney. t's good to hear another perspective. I may not always agree with it..but appreciate and respect the opinions of others. Most here do the same.
As for this particular issue..I do honestly understand the need of some to have this done at some point during their travels.( just prefer they're not in the site next to mine when they have it done) Certainly, there is a calling for it..as there are a good many people who use the services of these power washing companies. I do think that management could address the situation and come up with a solution to keep us all happy campers! :)

I will agree with Auntie here that everyone should feel welcome at these boards. The is a "discussion" board........"not a get yelled at and be rude to" board. Overall I think people are just trying to get their point across about something that they feel very compassionate about => camping.

Anyway, my husband and iIare split on the big rig washing issue. Many of us do not go to the parks during the day and like to stay around the Fort where it is relaxing and restful, which does not included loud powerwashers. I dont understand why people cant get their rigs cleaned prior to their trip. But I guess there are those who stay for months at FW?!?! Just seems unnecessary.

WHAT :confused3..do you plan to stay married to this man?..:rotfl2:
I guess you'll have to take yourself over to the pool or the beach while your rig is being washed. Oh..the hardships we endure to keep peace in the family.
Seriously, I think it would be a great idea to offer a loop where this service is included. Just like they offer pet loops. This way it would accomodate those people who need or want this..and not bother folks who are enjoying the peacefulness of their campsites. Just my two cents..and we all know what that's worth!

IMO, there is not a loop within the confines of FW that would be acceptable for pressure washing of any sort. That sound reverberates beyond a few local sites.

As I mentioned already, get the RVs out into the Big Lot. They might even have a FW motif so those in need could still Feel the Magic:goodvibes as they are parked waiting for their turn.

as stated in one of my previous post, we were at the fort a month ago and 2 large rigs came on either side of us on a Friday night. 8am Saturday morning the pressure washers were cleaning both for over 2 hours. What really got me mad was Sunday morning they were both packing up and leaving by 11:00. This tells me most likley they lived close to the fort and came for a quick trip. The washing was uncalled for their short stay IMO. Someone should come up with a way to build an RV wash on some property outside of disney property and advertise it right. They would make a fortune...lol

I don't mind the detailers washing and waxing all that much. I agree that there could be better spots for it, but we spend a lot of time at the parks or doing other things during the day. The noise is not really a bother for us.

What REALLY bothers me is the folks who pull out and leave a lot of junk behind. The people in the site next to us pulled out in the middle of the night last night. This morning there are two large plastic jugs on the concrete pad and a towel laying just off the pad. It looks as though he disconnected, wiped his hands on a white pool towel and just tossed it off to the side before driving away. :sad2:

I think our favourite campground, our fellow campers, and the cast members who work here should be treated with a little more respect.

It's hard to walk more than 35 feet without passing a recycle station and a trash can! Leave nothing but footprints.

Out of the at least 5 times we go to the fort each year (we live about an hour and 1/2 away) We only goto the parks once a year. The rest we just enjoy what the fort has to offer. Detailers, vendors, and pressurewashers are things we should not have to enjoy. If Disney is going to regulate renting GC from an outside vendor, the detailers should be stopped first. It's just a matter of time before big brother at Disney puts a ban on our personal carts.

I think some RVer's are more than a little obsessive/compulsive when it comes to keeping their units clean. Just my opinion. Anyway, for those who may be offended by complaints re. having their units cleaned, why not arrange for the cleaning company to come by while they are at their site? That way they can see how loud and annoying it is. I'm thinking there is a reason why they always have the cleaning crew come while they are out at the parks. I'm pretty sure there are Rv/truck washes in the area they could take their rig to, but I bet they would rather annoy their neighbors than inconvenience themselves.

I couldn't have said it better myself :)

RV owners being OC, I don't agree. If a person has $1/2 million to $2 million in their home on wheels, keeping it clean is par for the course. Heck, around my area, home owners are constantly outside pressure washing their DRIVEWAYS.

I feel it is simply the Me attitude, where the regards for the feelings of others takes a back seat to one's self.

BTW, when I was young we were taught at home and in school it was everyone else and then I or Me. Today, while speaking and in print, it is me and my friends or me and whatever. The ME generation is alive and well and will only continue to grow since adults are the ones setting the bad example. Rant over.

Just back from The Fort, we seen 4 different RV Cleaning Service vans riding thru looking for business. Lucky for us our fellow loop 500ers washed their rigs by hand. :thumbsup2

We found an affordable detailer when we camped at Turkey Lake. Until then we didn't know people would come to your site in a park. We booked him and his wife the next time we stayed. The next year I asked if he would come to my house and he did. So now I don't have to go to the park. Yeah.

But I would never had know there was someone who does this if I didn't see him in the park. It would be my dh killing himself on the roof of our MH. So this guy has saved my dh's life so to speak.

I don't mind them, I just get on my bike and loop or go to the pool or something else.......

My husband is babbling his point to me. I told him if he wants to comment, get a log in!!:lmao:

We were there when this was being done. We were in the 900 loop and thank God no one had it done there but we could see and hear it over at the 800 loop

Get rid of these guys. Its just not part of the cAmping experience.:eek:

Does anyone remember the names of any of these Companies? I need to get my rig done next trip. It needs it bad. Just didn't have the cash this trip and I lost the business card from last year when I had it done and also forgot to write the phone numbers down as they drove by this past weekend. Thanks! :thumbsup2
