Is it just me...or does MK need more TS restaurants?

Many times I find we eat at another resort on our MK days....I was thinking....if I want to spend the whole day there and have a nice sit down meal (NOT a buffet)...there really aren't many options. I mean, yes, there is:

CRT - catered toward girls and very $$$ and we don't love the food

Crystal Palace - great for breakfast, but again, lunch and dinner food is just so so

Liberty Tree Tavern
- again..food just okay and not much appeal now that characters are gone.

and...well...that's it!!! That's the problem I think!

There is also Tonys Town Square and The Plaza

They are going to add a "Be Our Guest" TS in the new Fantasyland expansion

I agree! I guess thats when many just use the monorail resorts to use for TS when going to MK. but yes, there is hardly any options.

In the new Fantasyland expansion I believe there will be a new restaurant that will be counter service during the day and table service at night,I believe the names are Gastons Tavern and Be our Guest.

As mentioned, there are 5 total with a 6th on the way. And there are several more along the monorail route. Granted, you have to actually walk out of the park gates, but it doesn't take that long to get to any of the 3 monorail resorts. I think that's plenty.

They really could use a few character-themed TS restaurants, like:

Blue Bayou on board with Pirates (just like at DL)
Grim Grinning Grill near the Haunted Mansion
Grizzly Steaks and Fries at Country Bear Jamboree
It's a Small Grill After All near Small World

What else would you want to see?

Actually, if I could "wish" for anything, it would be better CS restaurants at DHS!

I'm always so stumped when people ask for CS recommendation at each park. When it comes to DHS, all I like for CS is Starring Rolls, which isn't even a regular CS restaurant (but a bakery with a few sandwich options).

"It's a Small Grill" made me :lmao:

But I agree! I've always thought MK could use a nice TS restaurant. Tony's doesn't really do it for me. Something a bit grander and heavily themed.

I agree...never eat TS in MK. Would love a Pirate Themed Sit down like Hoop dee or Aloha! With Rum of course!
They could tear out back wall in POC and build a big Ship that you dine on while you look over the ride! I can Dream can't I!

I agree! We never eat in MK- DH didn't like CP at all, LTT isn't worth the price without characters (I mean, its Stouffers food, right?), and CRT is overrated (we went before it was a character dinner...the food was ok but way overpriced.) We might try Tony's one day but the reviews haven't encouraged us to do so.

I'd love to see more TS so we wouldn't have to leave for dinner.

We always do Crystal Palace if we stay in the MK for dinner, it's the only place a family of vegetarians can get something decent that isn't "just another pasta dish". Besides, we love buffets. Otherwise, it's on to the monorail for better sit-down eats.

DHS is really lacking when it comes to CS spots.

I would really love to see another Blue Bayou. It's my favorite restaurant at Disneyland.

MK isn't that big of a park, so I think the number of TS (and CS) restaurants it has is fine. Plus... because it's on the monorail, people have the added option of riding to a resort for lunch or dinner.

I really enjoyed The Plaza, and I'm not sure why it often dismissed or forgotten. It is such a quiet respite from the park! It's actually the only TS restaurant I've eaten at at MK. (Though we will be going to LTT tavern next trip.)

From what I've seen it looks as though these will be two separate restaurants.

Currently there are only 5 TS restaurants inside MK. When they add "Be Our Guest" there will be 6.
