So, we made the call today! Spoke w/ a guide that we really liked ~ based upon our 1 hr conversation.

I've recieved many PMs from DVCers recomending their guides. Would it be inappropriate for me to ask if anyone else has this particular guide; and what experiences they've had?

P.S. Can't wait for the Fed-ex package to get here!

Thanks Chuck!

I never saw that thread before.

:hint: I wouldn't mind hearing from Granny, JIMLEM or TDC Nala :hint: :rolleyes1

I can't imagine anyone's had anything but good experiences with our new guide; but, I figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

Thanks again!

this may be opening a can of worms - but are the guides that important? Maybe you could fill the non members in as to why.

My original guide no longer works for DVC but I switched when I was trying to get info about adding on at VWL because he never called me back. I called MS and complained and they had the nerve to tell me I had to state an exact reason for switching because they showed in his notes he had left me several messages. Well, I am in the military and the phone number he "called" was no longer in service as I had been moved to another location well before the dates he "called" me back. I informed MS of this and offered to send them a copy of my military orders and they backed down. I picked my guide at that time because I was visiting Hilton Head and told MS I wanted the guide I had met at Hilton Head. Needless to say, I have never had a bad experience with another guide but it can happen. My old guide lost out on a huge commission because I ended up purchasing 3 new contracts for VWL. His loss!

It's like any sales transaction. Members who purchase DVC want to work with a salesperson, "Guide" who knows the business and responds to questions in a timely manner. I expect my transactions to process correctly. I expect my Guide to be a buffer between myself and the DVC. If I have a purchase problem, I expect my Guide to fix it.

Our first Guide was hard to reach. Our current Guide has spent time working with us before and after our AKV purchase. She answered many questions via the telephone and email. When our developer points posted incorrectly to our account, I had called MS three times to address the problem. They didn't know what to do. I called our Guide and she got it fixed. After the points posted correctly, she called and apologized for the mix up. She also said that a nice gift will be waiting for us when we check in on our next trip. :cool1:
