First of all, thanks to everyone for answering my questions. :)

1. Is it tough to rent out points if you know far enough in advance that you won't be using them?

2. Does anyone own extra points and rent those extras out regularly to--let's say--pay for your maintenance fees? We are pondering the idea of buying more points than we would need.

3. Regarding the current SSR incentive--anyone know if that $8.00 discount is for just the first 150 points you purchase, or can you get $8.00 off as many points as you wish to buy?

Again, TIA.

Hi Barb... :wave2: haven't "talked" in a while.. how are you and the kids?

I have only rented out points once and it was easy to do. Just followed the advice of the wonderful DVCers on the board. And BTW, there are never too many points.. it is funny how those extra trips just pop up, gotta use that AP to the max..

Holy cow girl, long time no see! :wave2:

I didn't know you owned DVC! :) Where? We are messing around (again) with the idea. We are somewhat concerned about how often we'd get down there. Getting flights out of Syracuse during school breaks is tough. My friend is going down for April break, and it's costing her $2000 to fly her family of 5 to MCO. :( I mentioned to Eric that we were thinking about DVC, he was really excited about the idea, until I mentioned that we'd have to be ready to drive it. He said if that was the case, he doesn't want to go. Too bad he has no say in the matter. :rotfl:

Its not very hard to rent out points at all. Just post what you have available on the rent/trade board.....PM's will come your way fast.

If you can afford the points that may work but I wouldn't buy points with the intentions on renting them all the time. Thats just my opinion others will have different views.
