My family of 5 (dH & I, 13,11,11yos) are going to Disney from 11/18 - 11/25. DH wants to try UO/IOA this trip. We will not have a car with us, and would use a town-car for transportation.

How feasable is it to do UO/IOA on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving? We would stay the whole day... from 9am - 7pm.

Thanks!

well depending on how fast you walk , how many toilet stops you need etc , you should beable to manage !

last time we went we kept having to stop for the toilet and some of us were very slow walkers ! This made it hard to do a lot in one day , we managed epcot and a little bit of magic kingdom in one day but we only went on three or so rides at epcot !

If you plan ahead and make sure your organized well , you should beable to do it ! :thumbsup2

Have a good time !! :p

i would say you could do it. i have done it several times but that was always in the first week of feb so there was no crowds at all. dont know how the crowd level will be when you go

Anything is possible but I would recommend at least one day at IoA and one day at Universal though.

It's kind of like asking if you can do Magic Kingdom in 3 hours if you have never been. Yes, it is possible to hit the highlights at MK in 3 hours but you can't get the full experience rushing from one ride to another. If you have been to US and IoA a lot and know the parks then it is more feasible but I fear that with such a short visit (especially as a newbie), you won't truly enjoy the parks. You have 8 days for your visit. Why not 6 days at WDW and at least 2 days at US/IoA? You know WDW and can easily do one park per day there. Universal/Islands of Adventure are new to you. You need at least 2 days to see what they offer.

My recommendation is one full day at US, one full day at IoA, and a third day to hit your favorites at both of the parks. You can buy a 2 days, get 3 days free for $99 online. So you get 5 days for only $20 more than a one day park hopper at the gates.

I took my DD12 and we did the VIP tour for both parks. It really is worth spending the dollars (if you can swing it). My advice would be to get there prior to the park opening. The tour begins at 10:00 which gives you at least a full hour to take in all of the Marvel attractions @ IOA. Then back @ 10:00 you get a terrific behind the scenes tour, no down time, front of line, and cut through into US in the afternoon. After the tour at US you can still ride w/FOL pass on Mummy, Jaws, etc.

Otherwise- you'll spend time in lines and both parks would be really difficult. :surfweb:

As people have said anything is possible, but I'm not sure how pleasurable it'll be - big rush! We spent 8 hours at Universal Studios in the summer and didn't see everything even though we had Front of the Line privileges for all the rides. You could certainly do 1 full day at each park and come back for a third day. You'll just need to be very selective on what you want to do, plan carefully and accept there won't be much time for sit down meals, shopping and just taking in the atmosphere of the parks.

Enjoy.

The experts can easily do both parks in one day, but if you are "dragging" multiple people around, then it's going to be a long day. It would be like me saying I want to visit the MK and MGM in one day. Maybe, if you only want to do the thrill rides.

I suggest you check out of your Disney hotel, and stay 2 nights onsite at Universal to get the full effect. Do this at the END of your trip, because with your magic keys, you'll be spoiled. Check the rates of the RPR, it's the lowest priced. If you drive up from Disney for one day, you'll say it was just ok, and never know what you missed. If you stay onsite, you'll get the full effect and "feel" like you were part of the action.

My family (self, DH, DDs early 20s, DS17, DSIL28, and DD's BF24) has been to US/IOA 3 times and we've done both parks on each trip. Perhaps we're more accustomed to going from attraction to attraction b/c we are Disney vets, but we really don't find it all that difficult. Our first trip we bought the 2-day, 2-park ticket, thinking we would need one day for each park. We ended up seeing all that we wanted to in both parks ('tho I must say we were EXHAUSTED the 1st time b/c we pretty much wanted to see EVERYTHING). Another thing to consider is that Universal's version of fast passes were available on all major attractions. Now they do not give them out in machines; if you want to be on the Express Plus lines (bypassing regular lines), you must buy an additional ticket for each person. WITH the Express Plus, I'd say it's definitely feasible; without it, I don't think so, unless the crowds are not too bad during that time.
We've only been there during summers, b/c we have 2 teachers in the family.
