the parads? My kids would not want to watch it but i will ask them when the day arrives but if they say no can we get to the rides easy? :confused3

the standby lines do drop around the parade times. just make sure to check your map and avoid those around the parade route. it can be very difficult to move when everyone is camped out for the parade.

Yes, lines tend to be much shorter for at least 30 minutes before a stated parade time, and until the parade passes by. (Depending somewhat on which park, and at what time the parade is going to be offered.) But be advised that is often difficult to move from one area of the park to another during parade time. Look in advance at the park map you plan to attend, study which attractions you wish to experiece, look at locations, and get your party into the chosen area well before the crowds line up for the parade.

Enjoy.

Lines definitely drop significantly. So it is a great time to ride some rides, if you aren't into the parades. But like everyone has said, the parade routes are pretty much impossible to navigate through. So stay away from them, and ride the rides in one area until the parade is done, and you'll be fine.

we never watch parades - in MK, you can ride BUZZ 4 or 5 times, while the parade is going on - literally a 2-3 minute wait. You can also do space mountain. Also, head back to ride splash mountain or Thunder mountain. You need to chose one of those areas, and just stick to it. trying to make your way around the parade is difficult, but it can be done.

I swear, my son could stay in MK all day, and just ride BUZZ all day long. He would be completely satsified!

This is one of my family's best secrets. We always pick one ride that typically has long lines, and we go to it about a half an hour before parade time. You can usually ride multiple times before the parade is over. Once, we were able to ride Buzz SEVEN TIMES before it was over. It's great! I would definitely recommend this if you don't particularly like parades. ;)

We went to WDW during Thanksgiving week 2003. The parks were packed. I was hoping the lines would be shorter during the parades, but I was disappointed. If I remember correctly we waited in line for an hour to ride Splash Mountain during the evening parade at MK. Riding rides during the parade is a great strategy. but may not be so helpful when the parks are very busy.

Lines are lower during parades.
