Is it December Yet?? Cancelled with a Heavy Heart!

Glad that for the most part you all had a great time at camp... it looked like lots of fun from the pictures!!!!!! :goodvibes

Not sure I would honestly call and see, it would be the same if a family of 5 in a sleeps 4 type thing

I doubt they'd let it fly. But calling doesn't hurt. I know for DVC if you rent a room on points you can fit more in a room, but if you reserve a DVC room as a paying guest you can't.

I don't think I would feel comfortable going against the rules....especially since we already have a package booked with them. The LM section looks awesome to me......the boys might think it's a bit girly but it's only for one night. :rotfl:

We had a great time at camp, especially once I started sleeping!! :goodvibes

I know this was announced while I was at camp this last week.....but my family is very excited about this, so I'm reposting the news!!

WE'LL DINE AT SAN ANGEL INN AT 4:30pm

osa.jpg

THE SCHEDULED NARRATOR WILL BY OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN

Awesome pics. I've never eaten at San Angel, but I love Mexican food. And I can imagine ON-J being a captivating narrator, if not, at least a little playful.

We saw Whoopi 2 yrs ago.

We got in line right after our meal. That's how we got so close. ;)

So we're not assigned seats with the package?? We'll still have to get in line early to get a decent seat?? Just want to make sure I understand how it all works.

Seeing Whoppi would have been awesome!! I love her speaking voice.....I bet she was good! I'm looking forward to Olivia Newton-John, I love her accent (all Australian accents)

I know there are mixed reviews on San Angel.....but we love Mexican food & we'll take our chances on the meal being decent. With the dining plan, we pretty much just needed to pick a place for the meal but figure it's covering our seat for the CLP. :woohoo:

You are guaranteed a good seat for the show. But BDLsgal (and I thank her for this) talked me out of us going for a quick stroll before the show and to get in line. And ONCE AGAIN... She was right. Becasue we got in line after our meal, we were in about the 4th or 5th row.

Ok, gotcha!! Thanks for that info!! Now, our dinner is at 4:30 and we're doing the 8:15 show.......what time should we be lining up??

Like you, we ate at a corner country (Le Cellier - Canada. They still did dinner shows in 2010). So we had the furthest to walk and since it was a steak house it took a little longer to sit/cook/eat than I'd imagine San Angel. But it would still be a long walk. I'd say if you're in line between 6:40-7:00, you should be good. And since you have a group, people can step out for snack/soda/bathroom breaks.

Ok, thank you for the advice!!!

QUESTION: What time does Fantasmic usually run in December?? Is there time to see Fantasmic & Osborne Family Lights on the same night??

After getting some insight from our son Derek, our "Pick a Park" day is now a 2nd day at Disney's Hollywood Studios. We want to see and do so much at this park.....we just don't want to be rushed. The only problem is.......we have a 7:55pm dinner at California Grill on that night.....so we would need to do the lights & Fantasmic (if possible) on the first night at this park.

Everywhere I have looked says 6:30, which I hope is true because then we can see it before we would need to head back for DD bedtime!!! Its my favorite!!!! :goodvibes

I was hoping for later....we have a dinner ressie for 6:30pm. Well we might not be able to add Fantasmic to our schedule.

Aww I am sorry I hope for you then that they change the times, I can always see it next year.

http://blog.touringplans.com/2012/07/03/a-look-at-disneys-dinner-shows/ Saw this link on fb today. Since we had talked about transportation to the Hoop-dee-do review, I thought maybe this would help.

As for Osborne lights and Fantasmic, how long it takes to get through the lights totally depends on how crowded that area is. We've gone some times where it was so crowded and moved at a snail's pace. And other times we had the streets to ourselves and could take as much or as little time as we wanted.

I hope somehow you can fit both Osborne lights and Fantasmic. It does look at this point that there is just one Fantasmic show at 6:30 each night.

Do they keep Osborne lights going during EMH? There is night EMH on the 9th and 16th.

Thanks for the link....I'll go check it out!!

I've rearranged our dining ADR's so we can plan on Fantasmic and hopefully we'll also have plenty of time to enjoy the Osborne Family Lights. The park is open until 8pm. So I would guess a 6:30 show of Fantasmic, that we could head straight to the lights afterwards & see them.

How early does it get dark that time of year?? Hoping to see them again on the Friday before our 7:55pm dinner at California Grill. Not sure what time they turn them on....but if they did it as early as 6pm, we could see them before we left for dinner.

I'm exhausted just reading that itinerary!:rotfl2: Will you guys even be able to move after this trip is over? I think I would be bedridden for days afterward:faint: - and this is coming from someone who walks everywhere!:rotfl2:

Well, you have certainly done a good job of working everything in (hotels, parks, character meals, Candlelight Processional, MVMCP and all!) and finding a place for everything in the schedule. In a strange way, I am very curious to hear what you think about your choices after you've returned, and how much some of the things may change once you're actually there (based on moods or other unexpected developments) - meaning, I wonder if you will realize when you are actually immersed in WDW, "I should have planned an extra day for X, Y, Z," or "I should not have included [fill in the blank] in the plan at all!"

I do hope that you don't short-change yourself on the Osborne Lights, though. From what I've seen of them on TV and in photos, it looks like the sort of thing you would want to take lots and lots and lots of photos of. People who don't take quite as many photos in general may not need to take a lot, but I think you would want to.

Are you planning to do the Safari at AK on your one day there (I think I only saw one AK day, right? Or did I miss something?)?

I'm glad you're going over to Fort Wilderness too! When Liza/funatdisney and I were at DLR for the Cars Land thing a few weeks ago, I was telling her that you were making your first trip to WDW (she's been there several times, I think), and I asked if there was anything she could think of that you should do (that you hadn't already worked into the agenda). If I recall, one thing she mentioned was Fort Wilderness and the Hoop Dee Doo!

I cannot believe that this massive trip is happening in only 5 months! Seeing when you first starting putting it together and crunching numbers the first time and how much time has passed since then, these last several months will zip by in no time.

In fact, if I were in your shoes, I can see myself having 'trip disbelief' at probably about the 2 weeks-prior point. Like around mid-November it would all sink in and I would start thinking, "OMG! I can't believe the trip is almost here, it's about to happen and there is no turning back! Full steam ahead!"
