Is it December Yet?? Cancelled with a Heavy Heart!

Hi Laurie... I guess I only missed a few pages from accidentally hitting unsubscribe... (I knew I had unsubscribed from something but couldn't figure out which thread it was!!)

Any news from the IRS?!? Any way you can call to find out what the status is?

Welcome back.....lol I won't hear anything now for 8-12 weeks. After meeting with the "local" office, she couldn't even see where the 2010 had been scanned in.....so she resubmitted it from her office. So now we sit and wait......again!! We've been waiting since Valentines Day when they first received it all....... :faint:

Super cute Mickey bathroom! I just love those little Disney touches throughout the house :)

I don't think there's a room in our house that doesn't have Disney in it. A stronger coming in would know we were Disney lovers!! :rotfl:

How close does that put you to your trip if it takes 12 weeks? It's been a few weeks now since you resubmitted it right?

Yes, so figuring a few business days for them to receive it.......12 weeks would put it exactly one week before the final payment is due (3rd week of Oct). Problem is, we still need to get flights secured too......and we're 7 people with 4 littles that have never flown....so we can't be spread out all over a plane or on different flights. I'm holding out hope (maybe my parent's estate will finalize in time) that we see a chunk of money long before Oct., otherwise we might not have a choice but to cancel. :sad2:

Oh Laurie, I really hope it doesn't come to the point of cancelling. You guys really deserve this trip! Pixie dust is continuing to be sent your way. pixiedust:

Thanx Andrea!! We might need all the *+*+*pixie dust*+*+* we can get. This year just continues to be blah........ the church my boys were all baptized in, we celebrated Anthony's adoption & Nick had his first wedding at (and we were members of) burned down today.....just painful to see the pictures.....another loss. :sad1:

Booking with Southwest it is not assigned seats so as long as you can get decent fairs that would not be an issue.

I really hope the money comes through in time!

If flights are an issue I'd recommend getting the SW Visa x 2 (one in your name, one in DH's) then you'd have 100,000 points to use.

For us it took about 40K to get all three of us to MCO from the West Coast, and one of us back (we could have gotten one more person back, but had some other credits to use for two of us). And one of the nice things about booking with points w Southwest is that there are no cancellation/change penalties. If you book with cash you have to use the credit within a year if you change, if you book with points the points just drop back into your account to be used whenever you like. And the no seat assignment thing helps in your case, too ... just have to check in at 24 hours prior on the dot!

Well, I wish we could do that but nobody in their right mind would give us a credit card. It's sad to say, but true. Way too many years with little to no medical/dental insurance....so the credit is bad.

My philosophy is: If it's meant to be, it will happen..... Right now it's a waiting game. I'll still plan as if we're going and maybe we'll get a break!

I, too, have been very out of the loop. The Olympics aren't helping me either! :lmao:

Omgoodness you did such a CUTE job with your bathroom! Love it! :thumbsup2 Unfortunately, DH won't let me deck the guest bathroom out the way you did, but I did manage to get the red, black, and white colors AND have some mickey soaps in there. :lmao: Not nearly as cute as yours, but it gives me my Disney kick!

I am sending pixie dust your way too pixiedust:

That is awful Laurie. Too much bad news for you, and I am so sorry to hear about your church. I hope things start looking up for you soon!

I'm guilty of the Olympics watching too......staying up late and then watching all day long (or at least having it on in the background). Good thing it only comes around every 4 yrs.....lol

Well see you start with the colors & the soaps....then slowly start incorporating other Mickey things and before he knows it....you have a Mickey bathroom!!! :rotfl:

Thanx Andrea!! I keep trying to stay "up" and positive....but sheesh, can we please get a change of tides or the wind or whatever has brought all this loss to us. Would love to see things turn and some good things happen.....I'm so ready for that!!!

Laurie,

We got the results back on Scotty's test and the numbers are still too high. He gets referred to the urologist now.

I am sorry to hear about the church.

Thank you. Now to wait for that. I was going crazy waiting nearly a week for this.

I can only imagine.

AHH that's the secret! :lmao::rotfl2: Very sly!

Laurie -

What a strangely terrible coincidence. My childhood church (which was a church that was very important, noteworthy and integral in my life for different reasons when I was very young) burned down several years ago. Although I'm not a devout, over-the-top religious person, I did feel a big loss. I was very sad about it. I had some wonderful memories of that church and the people who were part of the congregation and choir (including Thurl Ravenscroft).

Did they find out what the cause of the fire was at your church? Was it arson? Was it an accident of some kind, like an electrical fire? I am not sure if it was ever decided 100% what caused my church to catch fire - maybe it was decided and I just missed the updates - but I think they suspected that it was either arson or a homeless person who had camped out there and accidentally started it.
