Boma definitely has better food. The draw of CM's is seeing the Big 5 all in one place. I am guessing that you are seeing them all at other restaurants so there really is no benefit to eating there. We last went in 2009 and I admit, I liked seeing them all at one time but I am at the point now that I am not willing to settle for mediocre food.

Well, seeing all 5 is nice but the bad reviews on the food, and reports of the kids chasing the characters at this meal bugged me. It sounds like this meal is starting to get a bit out of hand. I don't like having a bunch of people at my table because they're after the character.......we like having the character's attention for a few minutes to ourselves. I don't want a bunch of strangers surround us (especially the twins) or even touching our table/food!!

So with all the negative reviews about food, chaos, noise, etc...... I decided this was one we could lose. Besides, I had dropped the Boma dinner and was not finding a way to get over to it.....so now, adding Boma for the breakfast means we'll get over to the AKL!!

Thanx Rachel!! I could see that happening at any character meal, so it's up to the staff to remind families to stay seated & the characters will come by each table. We've had it happen a couple times in Disneyland....but they were right on top of it and didn't let them do it for long.

Having the characters come to us, vs us going to them, is the main reason we do the character meals. The twins are already dealing with stuff, but to have a crowd of people surround them, screaming, etc would not be pleasant.

I think Boma is a great choice! After breakfast you can check out the animals too! There is an observation area just beyond the check in/concierge desks. You walk through a little room with displays and seating, the observation deck door is at the far left are of the room. There is also outdoor viewing by the pool, and another outdoor area at the back of the resort.

Oh nice......we'll check out the observation deck!! (bonus!!) Doing a meal here will make it much easier to get to this resort....I was afraid, we might not get over to the AKL (since it's kinda out there by itself) and I really wanted to see their holiday decorations.

We may try and get over there towards the end of our trip on a rest day...OR, if we finish up everything we want to do at AK and have time to kill before we need to be somewhere else...still working on it.

I hope you'll be able to get there....I've seen pics & things on specials and it was definitely one of the resorts we had high on our list. Boma seemed like the best option for my family....not sure the other restaurants would go over too well.

Now our financial situation has to make a HUGE rebound......even with the IRS check (if it gets here in time), we're still gonna come up short. Need my son to find work so his pay goes directly towards this trip. Prayers needed he finally finds something!!! (been since Feb that he's been looking) I'm starting to panic!

I'm glad you were able to take advantage of the free dining!!! I don't think we'll be able to, because we'd have to totally rebook the whole thing & when I was running the numbers, we really weren't gaining anything to do it. Maybe a little, but not worth having to start over. (and it looks like we'd have to change resorts now too). Besides, I don't have the deposit money to book the 2nd package which we would need. We're just hoping to work everything out so we actually go!!

Thank you, I appreciate that!! You're not the first person to tell us we deserve this.....but the way these last couple years have gone.....I'm just not sure I can be super positive. Just kinda been one thing after another.....I am so totally ready for things to turn around.....we keep trying & smiling and hoping!!!

I won't give up until the last second.........
