Is it common to book at last minute?

We are cruising on February 8th (7 day eastern) and I just checked out the site at Travelocity.com to find that every category seems to have lots of room left. Even category 12 isn't sold out... This is less than four months away... While the idea of having the ship (almost - there are a few DISers going) to ourselves sounds appealing, I am hopeful that there will be some 9 year olds onboard to play with my daughter. Am I just being a worry wart?

There are ALWAYS plenty of kids on a Disney cruise, even during the school year. Don't worry, your daughter will have plenty of playmates. Enjoy! :)

Hello Annie,

I had just the OPPOSIT concern!!! I am hoping that when we travel, off season in the Fall, that the kids clubs and pools will not be so super packed!

I have tried to get an idea of how many kids might be onboard. And, I have heard estimates from way up close to 1000 during High seasons (Summer, Holidays, etc...) down to around 500 is the lowest that I have heard. So, even at 500 kids, there are bound to be plenty of new best friends for your daughter :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc <- this is your daughter having the most fabulous time with a playmate!!

Thanks guys... I wouldn't like it to be super packed either - just enough kids to be good playmates for my daughter... I know I am a worrier but either way I know it will be a great time. At least if the ship has lots of room, there's a possibility of an upgrade...
