Is it common for rooms to come available after being unavailable

the contemporary is booked up for the week of April 9th. Does anyone know how much luck I will have if I check for availabilities daily? Do rooms sometimes become available after being unavailable for a while? Anyone have luck with this or know if they open up more rooms as it gets closer to the date...

Keep checking back, due to possible cancellations. You might consider a split stay, between two resorts. Also, be sure to check Orbitz, as their availability is sometimes different.

As of right now, both the Disney Travel site and Orbitz show space April 12-16 (using Orbitz promo code "funfunfun" saves you almost $385 on the same room). As long as you cancel with more than a five day notice, your payment should be refunded. If you really want Contemporary, perhaps reserve what they have now, but keep checking back several times per day, for your desired check-in date.

I had a trip booked in Dec, I couldn't get into the wilderness lodge for the deal I wanted....called several times and finally one day it opened up. I jumped on that thing FAST. Never know.

If someone cancels at 30 days, a room may become available. But Disney only "hold back" rooms for conventions, and generally any convention blocks are released at 30 or 60 days as well.
