Is it busy in August?

My dad just said that he is looking to book a trip for August. (We usually go in the April/May time period). And im just curious if it's busy then. Last minute family vacations in the summer, or what have you...

Any advice?

We went in August last year at the end of the month. It was busy and we used FP alot for things we definitely wanted to see. I have read that after the locals go back to school mid month that the crowed are a bit less.

The parks are open later the beginning of the month. I'm not sure about temperature, I'm sure it's all the same in August, since I've gone the end of September and it's been in the 90s then too. It is hurricane season in August, which could dampen your trip (plenty of pun intended!)

Since its summer a lot of people go during August when kids have off from school. It might be a tad less crowded then July- but if you really want to avoid crowds wait til September or October.
