Is it better to make reservations for FW on the phone or on the computer?

I am really hoping to be on the 1500 loop. We are tent camping, plus my husband can't walk well, so we want to be near the Meadow. Is there a spot on the on-line reservation form to note these things or wold I do better talking to a real person? We are hoping to arrive 11/07/10 for 4 nights.

I'm going to opine and say that you're better off calling. I've not ever been able to find AAA discounts online, and I've never found the place to request a loop or site. My GG of 20 people is reserved for 17-30 July, and I've even requested the sites in the 2000 loop we had last year. Not saying we'll get them, but, by GUM, we're hoping! And I was only able to do that with an actual CM on the phone.

Again, MY opinion. :)

I say call.. I have made my ressies online but they didn't ask for the length of the rv or if sliders, etc. plus, making loop requests etc is not that easy. I had to call to give all the info anyway.

Calling is the best way. The CM can make additional notes on you ressie about special needs.

I usually look online 1st. If I can't get the days I need I play the add dates to my stay game and then call with those exact dates.

Booking online is great, then you can play with dates, etc, until you get what you need without sitting on the phone on your dime or your minutes.

However, requests are best handled by calling later and adding them to your reservation, then sending in a fax about 5 days ahead of time.

The best is as a lot of us Diser's use is the same travel agent never have a problem

I always figure a travel agent wouldn't want to bother with my little arraingements. We are only camping 4 nights, no dining plan, one day park tickets with our GAD vouchers. If there is a travel agent who wouldn't consider me a bother, I would love to go through them.

I’m not saying but just saying a lot of us Disers use the same travel agent or agents for most of there trips. Even for 2-3 day trips

I think the OPs question has been sufficiently answered, but thought I would add a little more info for others with a similar question. There is one more advantage of phoning a reservation, and that is you can reserve beyond the currently release pricing... i.e. into next year. You can reserve 499 days in advance of your departure date when calling. Generally online you can only reserve the current calendar year online until pricing is set for next year, typically about August, IMS.

I've made several reservation online prior to the release of pricing for period I was staying, typically around 450-499 days out.

I always call. That was I can give the necessary information that you can't give on line:

length of unit
awnings
pets
loop

Also, on the phone, they can really work with different dates to try and get you what you want.pluto:

That's interesting. All I get is:
Currently, Walt Disney World® Resort reservations are only available for check-in dates up to and including December 31, 2010. Please modify your travel dates accordingly.

Anybody else been able to book beyond released pricing period online?

Tried to make ressies last week for our return at the end of January 2011 and got that message. Had to make them on the phone, with un-confirmed pricing.
