Is it all going to come tumbling down? (Political)

Because the Bush administration appealed to the pro-gun, pro-life, anti-gay, anti-semetic populous, which sadly makes up more than 1/2 of the nation.
I for one voted for Bush and I am not pro-gun, could careless about the abortion debate, am not anti-gay and not anti-semetic. Now the question is to find the real reason I and many others voted for Bush.

Well - once anyway. And once he was given the job by the court system.

technically it's only once since SCOTUS elected him in 2000 - recall Gore won the popular vote. ;)

if Cheney has to step down, W can appoint someone else to be VP - doesn't have to be Hasert or Condi. Could be Brownback or Gore though the latter is doubtful :rotfl2: IIRC Ford wasn't in the line of succession.

new info

An uber-insider source has just reported the following to TWN:

1. 1-5 indictments are being issued. The source feels that it will be towards the higher end.

2. The targets of indictment have already received their letters.

3. The indictments will be sealed indictments and "filed" tomorrow.

4. A press conference is being scheduled for Thursday.

Merry Fitzmas!!!

Yes I did, but your other comment about sheep was indicative that I just followed like everybody who voted for Bush.

So, are we going to
a. Have a new terror alert
b. Osama Bin Laden is found
c. Actually watch them fall.

I would love for b to happen, but I think it will be A.

I would vote for an uneasiness about the opposing candidate and sticking with the status quo at least during the second election. I can't begin to understand the reason during the first election.

I'll take "A". Two questions:

1) "How red is the red alert going to be"?

2) Do you think Mayor Bloomberg (R-NYC) has figured out he was "bushwacked"?

Here's to you, Dubya. I'll join you in a drink. Heavy on the "join". :drinking1:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1

::yes:: I don't think he is particularly beloved by anyone, but the administration and fellow Republicans on the hill like to spin it that way, at least in public. If it does indeed all come tumbling down, it should make a fascinating book 10 or 20 years from now. "All The Texan's Men" maybe? ;)

They voted for the status quo and 2000+ Americans are dead.

No one could. That's why it had to go to the Supreme Court. The Bush people figured they had a better chance there than actually counting legally cast votes.

And returning to the OP, after the Bush people got away with the biggest lie of all in 2000 (they won the election) and they saw the American people roll over and play dead, the Bush people thought they could get away with anything. That's what this is all about. They're not covering up who leaked a CIA agent's name. They're covering up the phony intelligence about Iraq, the ratcheting up of terror alerts when the heat is turned on, the election disparities in Ohio, etc.

Btw, if no indictments are issued, Bush is still dead politically.

Their fellow Republicans spin it that way because Bush had political coattails. No more and the first ones to stick the shaft up the Bush wazoo is the Republicans. They've had to put up with these arrogant *******s from day one and it's payback time.

Here's to you, George. Good job......you just may've put the final nails in the coffin of the current Republican party. :drinking1

A grass roots Republican revolt? I had no idea! :confused3

Maybe it's me, but I am noticing that as Bush's popularity is dropping, so are the number of posts on a thread like this one in support of him.

Could it be that his supporters are beginning to realize that we are now on the way to having a recession due to his huge deficit?

That people are losing their jobs and finding interest rates rising?

That, maybe, people are starting to feel that the truth was not always being told?

I know that emotions have always run high when it comes to support or non-support of this administration but my main question is:

Are you better off now then you were 6 years ago??? Take a moment and consider this question, honestly.

The Right is strangely quiet nowadays. Well, that is except for certain notable exceptions.

I think that their usual rhetoric is starting to sound hollow to many of them. As time passes, it's getting harder and harder to blame Clinton and many are realizing that maybe, just maybe the fella in the White House really has no clothes on.
