Just wondering if this was pushing the envelope. Our son will be 4 1/2 when we go and I would of course book the earlies ressie possible 5 or 5:30. Do you think this would upset other diners? I would take his portable dvd player just in case but usually he is well behaved.

Sorry this is probably on the wrong board and should be moved.

HI, Children are EVERYWHERE at WDW!! As long as he is "well behaved " I believe it would be fine for your family to dine at Narcoosees. My DD(23) and I had dinner there in October, the food was delicious. ENJOY! Joan

I think you guys will be fine! I wouldn't even bring the DVD player. I took my kids there this past Dec., one was younger than yours. Not a problem.

Enjoy yourselves there! The meals were fabulous! I highly recommend the almond crusted cheese cake (year of a million dreams inspired). Hands down the best cheese cake I've ever had!

We brought our 2yo and 4yo in October. We had the first seating (5:30) and they were well behaved. They enjoyed the MK view and coloring while they waited for food. The waiter was prompt with the courses, and things went well. For us too they were not the only kids in the restaurant.

I will be dining there and California Grill with my 6 year old and 18mth old....

I will probably bring a new small toy/book for the table "just in case".
We eat out often now and they are great - but not sure how tired they will be

You could consider dropping him off at the Mouseketeer club in GF while you go to dinner. DW & I are very much looking forward to doing that when we dine at V&As - DD seems quite excited about it too.

I am taking my DD4 there on Thursday, and from what I have read on here, I don't think she will be the only child there. She is well-behaved in restaurants, but all children have their moments!

I think it will be fine to take him there.

Go and enjoy your dinner. Don't worry that anyone is looking at you funny because you brought your 4yo to a Signature restaurant. Our 5yo turning 6yo loved it. Declared his Mickey shaped pasta to be the best ever. We ate late so he could see the Electic Water parade and he was awe struck. I wouldn't just pick and early dinner time to suit other diners; it's your vacation too!

The question isn't really if the restaurant is good for a young child but rather whether the child is good for the restaurant. When we ate at Narcoosees I would stay a quarter of the tables had young children and most were really well behaved, but one group was awful. There were three children who looked to be under 4. They whinned and crawled around and under the table. The adults tried to hold them and they stretched their bodies out so as not to be held and one actually hit one of the friends we were dinning with. The adults looked miserable, the children looked miserable, and as much as we could tell the adult didn't just leave because the hadn't had time to eat their meals with all of the attention they were having to give the children. Children like this don't belong in any signature restaurant in my opinion, but I have no problems with well behaved children

I like to go after 8:00, seems that most families with small kids go early.

We went on our honeymoon.... I was surprised to see all adults. Narcoosees had a very serious feel, and didn't seem like a fun place for kids :confused3

It was very romantic and nice to have an adult night, with many other well dressed couples. We had a fantastic meal and a wonderful night

I think the combination of the high prices and going a little latter in the evening, makes this a real treat for adults to get away and enjoy.

I'm sure if you went early, your kids would enjoy the view of the water, but once it get dark... it didn't seem like a kid friendly decor.

Our ADR was for 7:30 and, as I said earlier, about a quarter of the tables had young children. I wouldn't have charactized it as a "very adult place to dine"

We went in January, and I'm guessing the cold weather and early park hours might have worked in our favor.... We didn't see anyone who wasn't dressed formal. ( I was pleasantly surprised ). Signature dining at the Grand Floridian turned out to be just what we hoped for... a very elegant evening.

We are an all adult group who go regularly to WDW and usually only eat at the signatures. I couldn't even tell you who was seated at the tables around us at any time unless they were noisy (and I'm speaking adults and children). As long as other diners are not having their meals ruined by the behavior of fellow diners, everyone should be able to enjoy the variety that WDW provides. If your little guy is happy sitting for 90 minutes while all of you enjoy some good food, I say go for it.

We were there two weeks ago and ate signatures every night at 8:00 or later. Except for the night at JIKO (which I think is very adult), there were children at every other place. The worst behavior I saw all week was at Ca Grill when a grown woman took her shoe off and stuck her foot on the table to show her husband something. Not once in the 6 nights (excluding JIKO) did I witness poor behavior from children at the signatures--and none of them put their feet on the table.:rotfl:

It is PERFECTLY acceptable, and don't feel you need to make the earliest reservation just in consideration of the other Guests. If that's the time your family/son is used to eating dinner, fine - but if you want to go later, that's great too. In fact, depending exactly when your trip is, you might want to try to time your reservation so you can see Wishes - either from your table, or out on the deck.

That is the beauty of WDW, your children are EXPECTED anywhere. Well except V&A. Go and enjoy!!

I have a DD who is 4.5 and I'll tell you how it goes on Wednesday!

Just got back from Disney and went to Narcoosee's with DD5. There were lots of children (not all well-behaved, toddlers wandering around) and the restaurant is so loud that no one can hear a child screaming anyway. You will have no problem, esp. if your child is well-behaved!

We have diined there many times and there are always young children. We took our toddler grandchildren there without any issue. Of course, it is difficult for little ones to sit for very long, but DH took one of them out to see the water when she was finished. The boys take little cars and sit there very nicely. So, it's up to you. I am never offended by little children in restaurants unless the parents totally ignore them and allow them to run through the restaurant!

I will have to disagree. I could most certainly hear the screaming child next to me at Narcoosees. Just because parents bring their children and allow them to behave inappropriately does not make that behavior right. Narcoosees is a signature restaurant for goodness sake, shouldn't people have the right to expect a meal with out screaming and in our case kicking coming from the next table?
