Is the ride to Seaworld worth while?
Is Seaworld about the same as Disney for a 12 year old, only smaller?
Could you compare Aquatica to Blizzard Beach and Tyghoon Lagoon?
Good Luck All,
Joe

Honestly it all depends on if you like the things that Sea World has to offer. My kids are 8 & 11 and they love Sea World and want to go back. We don't have anything like Sea World around here so it's a nice treat for them. We don't go to Sea World for the rides, we go for the marine life. Sea World is completely different than Disney.

As far as the water parks, I can't help you there because we haven't gotten to any of them yet.

I love Sea World,it's only about 10 minutes away so it's very close to Disney and definitely worth a visit. It is somewhat different from the Disney parks as there are a lot of shows you have to schedule your day around,a lot of animal exhibits and interactions,a nice kids area and a couple of rides 2 of which are major rollercoasters. The penguin exhibit is currently closed as next year they're opening Antarctica a new themed area to incorporate the penguins along with a new family thrill ride.It however is not a small park and given that you have a lot of shows at different times Sea World is easily a 2 day park.

Aquatica right now is my favorite Orlando waterpark,it has a South Pacific theme, more palm trees and less trees than the Disney waterparks so less shade but it has a lot of pluses. For example they have two kids areas, one for bigger kids that's even fun for adults, their fast lazy river you can't find at Disney and is easily the coolest attraction there.Shopping and dining options are better at Aquatica than the Disney parks,it has two huge wave pools and a lot of fun slides. All three waterparks have things that I like so even though I prefer Aquatica, they're all very close.

the parks have their own threads on the Universal Boards, lots of good info there for planning.:)

Sea World has an excellent flying coaster, where you're basically suspended from your seat, face down, for most of the ride. If the kids like coasters and they've never been on a flying coaster, that alone is worth the trip.

There's also a basic, no-frills coaster that's much larger than anything Disney has with several inversions.

Plus the main attractions: the animal shows, viewing the whales, polar bears, and other animals, and the dolphin and sea lion feeding opportunities make it a fun park if the kids like animals.
